I took the Khan Academy diagnostic in August 2019 got a 168, practiced for a few months (maybe ~100 hours total between August and January), had a disheartening January 2020 take with a stylus malfunction and other test-day shenanigans. After I took a long pandemic break, I got precisely the same score on my summer 2020 7Sage diagnostic. It felt like a gut punch because I took the Khan Academy diagnostic in 2019 at 11pm after working a 16-hour day and skipped a bunch of questions at the end of my second LR, while in 2020 I felt well-rested and was so much more confident in my score. It happens!

I will say that it was was easier studying and staying on the wagon the second time around, and I ramped up my score really quickly (+12 first to best, consistent -0/-1 on BR after a few months of studying but not exhausting myself).

I also took the retake yesterday. Agreed that it felt like a relatively easy exam----but the last PT I took on LawHub beforehand was PT88, to which it could not compare. I finished LG with seven or eight minutes to spare, LR with ten, and RC with four (all of which are far above average for me), but I still feel like I wasn't careful enough and squandered a relatively easy exam because of nerves.

Point being: You're not alone! Cliche as it sounds, I'm using this next week before we get our results to take a deep breath and reset. I've done so much reading and realize that how one feels after an exam is not often a reliable score indicator. Some people leave feeling great and underperform, while others feel like they've gone through a meat grinder and manage to beat all their prior PT scores. Similarly, some people feel fantastic and leave with high marks, while others leave feeling overwhelmed and have scores that don't reflect their potential. I'm hanging in there with you!

Funny story, I took the PT88 LG section the morning of my January Flex. I also ate shortbread cookies, put a good essential oil blend in the diffuser, knit a little bit, put my phone in airplane mode three hours before the exam, did some breathwork from this Northwestern test anxiety guide.
