Hey y'all - I am having so much trouble with this question if anybody can help.
AC E:
OK, sure - if one candidate spends $1 mill, then all the other candidates can also spend $1mill. But why doesn't it go the other way? If one candidate can only afford to spend $500, wouldn't everybody else be restricted to that $500? Wouldn't the allowance be on the lowest limit which then ensures equity?
AC B:
What if the upper limit is $10mill? Then one candidate would be able to spend $10 mill, while another candidate may only be able to spend a tenth of that. So how does that upper limit help?

Same - unimpressed felt more neutral on a scale for me - like the author is not impressed but doesn't feel too strongly otherwise. I felt that exasperated, though strong, reflected the author's clear criticism of the Modernists. Wish JY addressed this further!
Thanks; this helps clears things up for me!
JY's explanation for AC C being wrong due to its comparison did not feel right to me - the conclusion itself has a comparison - "more quickly and efficiently"(the 2% vs. 3% scenario still stands here), so I was confused as to why C did not work. Your explanation makes more sense.
Seriously!! I didn't pick C for that very reason... Maybe a quality book is one that a reader enjoys and not necessarily one of "intrinsic value"
Anyone else not pick C due to very specific wording?
The answer choice stated "the end of the artist's lifetime," which I interpreted to mean towards the end of his life - aka while he was still alive. But the passage tells us that the copy was made after his death, which seemed to contradict the answer choice and hence why I went with E...

Same here! :)
I think it's because E makes that assumption in global warming, while B makes the assumption in climatology in general, which envelopes the argument more wholly
For Q17, is it just common sense or does it state somewhere in the passage that V. cholerae must be "awake" in order to cause cholera in humans? I picked E but changed my answer during BR because I didn't find evidence that V. cholerae was incapable of causing cholera when dormant. #help
