I would take it. You probably won't get your goal score, but you may - and if you're confident a few more months of studying will bring up your score anyway, taking the LSAT twice does not hurt you. I'm in the same boat (scoring on average 168 but recently scoring 170, which is my goal score) and I'm going to take it. I figure best case scenario, I get my 170, worst, I score closer to my 168 and retake the exam. It also depends on if you're okay with the additional $200 fee if you do take it a second time, though, so really only you can figure out what's best for your situation. Good luck!

I would just keep doing practice tests with timed conditions. You may surprise yourself. Skip questions you don't know and come back as needed. As you get better at the exam, you'll know which questions take you longer (for me, parallel reasoning take the longest so I always skip and come back at the end), so you can get your easiest questions done first. As you get used to the questions you should be able to move through them quicker, and time will no longer be an issue.

So, I've been studying for the LSAT since February but only got 7Sage in mid-April. While I've seen massive improvement, I just hit an all-time high this past weekend (FINALLY breaking the 170 barrier!) and I think with another month or so I could score that on the actual exam.

I'm scheduled to take the July LSAT-flex this coming week, and the deadline for August is July 15. I don't want to take the October since I'm hoping to be getting my applications out by then. I guess I'm wondering if there's a disadvantage to prematurely signing up for the August test? If I score my highest I would try and back out of the exam unless, for some reason, that's a huge "no" to schools. I've been super anxious about it and feel like having the August as a safety net would help but am worried of any unanticipated consequences I may not be thinking of.
