I thought E was way too obvious for question 20.....I need to stop basing my reasoning on this.

This entire passage I was thinking about the show Jury Duty and sweet, sweet Ronald. Especially the Vior Dire scene HAHA, the best show for anyone who hasn't seen it yet!

such a good, subtle question. wow. maybe the best method here was process of elimination, arriving at A and seeing the clues given about mature trees and regeneration in shade. well done lsac

I was SO CONFUSED what this question was asking for! For "the reasoning of the argument remain unchanged" I thought it meant which one of these words shows that the original use of "ee" is best. IE get rid of the counterexample all together. this comment is confusing, im sorry

Uploading Study Guides

Hi guys! I made a study guide for LR with all my notes as I did the core curriculum on 7sage! I was wondering if there was a way to upload the document so others could use it? Is there a PDF upload feature I can't find? Thanks!

I have been doing these questions by writing a little description of the stimulus in more general terms.

For this question, I wrote: To conclude that this condition is present, this ONE piece of evidence is not enough ON ITS OWN. This is because the condition has a different trigger that is necessary for the condition to be true.

Answer choice B really satisfied this explanation and I felt very confident about that answer choice therefore.

I literally thought four ACs on this question could be correct...

I swear when it gets past question 15 any answer that seems correct MUST BE WRONG because the test writers are so tricky and subtle, it's never the obvious answer that is correct.

Hi! I don't know how exactly qualified I am to give this advice, but I think one thing that has really worked for me to improve is focusing on quality rather than quantity. To preface, know this is standard advice that 7Sage gives and I am not reinventing the wheel by any means! After I complete a section timed, I really really really blind review it. I speak the passage out loud, rephrasing it to myself, I speak each question stem out loud and really pre-phrase and understand it. The really important part is all of the answer choices. If you can really accurately explain why each one is incorrect and give REALLY GOOD reasons to eliminate and be 10000000% sure about your answers, you will be so much better at spotting traps and mistakes in the future (then if you get the question wrong its holy shit I need to revalue myself versus "oh I just didn't have enough time"). Then I always watch the explanation and make sure that my reasons for eliminating an AC were similar to J.Y. Obviously, each passage varies so if you know the process to get the correct answer choice in and out, it's pretty intuitive to apply. Doing all of this makes me want to cry and its the mental equivalent of running a marathon, but I really feel like what has worked for me is taking my sweet time and really understanding how the LSAT writers create the wrong answer choices.

Other quick tips

I keep a wrong answer journal, this really has helped me see which type of questions I am getting wrong and I write down what I did wrong and how I can improve in the future.

when in doubt. READ IT OUT LOUD. even moving my lips, I swear, makes everything click. I misread often (hence my dyslexia) so any chance I get to read out loud and HEAR it helps. Mumur under your breath, move your hands as if you are talking ect.

All in all, what has worked personally for me is not really "drilling" its a deep deep deep understanding of one passage and all of the answer choices associated with that passage. quality and tracking mistakes is gold.

Writing Sample August Test

Hi guys! I have done a lot of research but I wanted to make sure what I am doing regarding the writing sample is okay!

I am signed up for the LSAT next week (pray for me). I know the writing sample opened already, but I want to focus on studying for the test and wait to worry about the writing section until after. I know not completing the writing sample ASAP may release your score later (but in my particular situation I am not in any rush to get my score back). SO, is it okay to start studying for the writing sample, and then take the writing sample a week or two after my actual test? I am just a bit confused if there is an actual deadline for completing the sample. Does anyone know any information about this? Thanks so much!

I feel like I understood the passage and the conclusion/premises accurately, but in the answer choice, D did not understand the vocabulary or what "economy of expression" even meant, so I went with AC B. I am so scared to take LSAT and get an answer wrong because of vocabulary :(
