I think I am FINALY done with my essay! Its taken me so long to finish it. I've reworked it so many times and had so many things to write about but I think I'm finally done. So far I have a good friend and a lawyer friend reading it. I will also probably have someone from David Busis' team read it. Is that enough? Should I ask more people for more comments and critiques? What have you guys done? I just need it to be perfect. Thanks.

Hi Lindsey - I'm not sure of the answer to your first question. I would suggest contacting student services, maybe they can delete them all for you.
As to your second question - you are 100% about not taking PTs unless you fully understand the CC. I highly encourage you to finish the CC and then start taking PTs. It would be a waste of a PT if you start before you finish.
Re taking the LSAT: You write that you are not sure whether you should take it but ultimately go back to it. I suspect that this is the reason why you don't finish the CC and have had to restart twice. First, why do you want to be a lawyer? Is it a long time dream, is it because it sounds cools, is it because it would impress others? What is the reason for going to law school? I ask because the LSAT is a huge commitment for the majority of people. Yeah, there are those that can whip out a 170 in a few months but I do believe that the majority of us need to spend a significant amount of time studying and dedicating themselves to the test. I think because you are not dedicated to the test you don't finish the CC and have had to restart.
Second: what about the LSAT is scaring you? Is it the length of time to study for the CC? Is it the length of the CC? Is it the law school cost? I think knowing these answers will help us to guide you better in your decision making.
I strongly encourage you to figure out why you want to go to law school and what you want to get out of it. Once you commit yourself to the LSAT then committing to the CC is the next step.
Thank you for this! It’s very helpful. I think you are right. I am stuck in a job that I like, but cannot imagine retiring in. From what I’ve studied in undergrad (international studies), the lsat seems like the next logical step. I’ve gone back and forth considering going to law school since 2007, then actively bought 7Sage almost two years ago. I like the idea of law school and being an attorney. I’ve talked about venturing into space law or immigration law. I left a masters program half way through after realizing it was not for me (masters in international relations and diplomacy), so the fear is from realizing this is the last shot for going back to graduate school. I also have a full time job, so I will study great for a week, and then lay off if work is too much. So I’m looking for that balance. Thanks for your advice. Just reading what you wrote already brought some insights that I needed to hear.
Lindsey
Hi Lindsey - no problem. I hope you find the right road for you. Just reading what you said it doesn't seem to me like law is really what you want (forgive me for being so blunt, just going by what you wrote). It seems to me like at this point you are looking for that next "something" but you are not quite sure what it is and, from my viewpoint, it is not law. I think if you really wanted to study law it wouldn't be a "next logical step". Also, I'm sure you have thought about this but why would law be your last shot at going back to school? The masters program you were in did not work out for you - so good for you for figuring that out and not finishing it. But there are other areas of study you can pursue that doesn't have to be IR or law. I hope you find your passion and go full throttle when you realize what that is. Good luck!

You rock! Thank you for starting the BR group. You have been so invaluable, not just for answering questions but for always, always cheering us on. You deserve that 170 and I'm so incredibly happy for you!!

@davidbusis895 For some reason, the link at the beginning of this post is not connecting me to office hours. Is there a different one?
Having the same problem : (
Hi - are office hours over? Its 9:30-ish EST. I keep getting "please wait for the host to start this webinar". I used this number for the meeting 594695176.
A bit late with the response but I hope it helps.
We are told that S intentionally did not tell his cousin about the factory closing. Ok, stop there. Why did he do that? It could be several reasons - like JY said in the video, if S is a good guy then he didn't tell his cousin because he wasn't really sure if it was true so maybe he doesn't want to spread gossip. Ok. But what if S was a real jerk and he didn't want his cousin to know about the factory closing for whatever crazy reason? If we continue reading we are told that lying is morally wrong and that there is no moral difference between lying and withholding information. Its this last part of the stimulus that tells us that S is a real jerk. But what makes him a real jerk? The fact that he believed that the factory was closing and still did not tell his cousin.
So, it must be true that he had to believe the factory was closing in order for there not to be a moral difference between lying and failing to tell the cousin about the factory. So that's why AC C is the Necessary Assumption - it must be true that S believed that the factory was closing - this lumps him in with the people who lie.
AC B is not relevant to the stimulus even if you negate it. We don't want to shift any lying we want to confirm that yes, S is a jerk because he knew that the factory was closing and still did not tell his cousin.
I wouldn't focus on the score but more on what kind of improvement if any you have done. When you say there is no improvement do you mean that when you PT that your score stays the same or below the 149?? Or are your official scores below the 149 or have they slowly gone up? Have you kept your pattern of studying the same? or have you changed it up? If it has stayed the same then maybe its time to change things up. Mayve 7Sage is not for you or maybe you need a different type of study method. I think taking some time to analyze how you have been studying, what kind of distractions you have that keep you from studying effectively and what your ultimately goal is, will help you in making long-term decisions.
As far as giving up - that is totally on how you feel and what is your goal score and your goal school. Some people want that 170+ and will stop at nothing to get there. For others, a low 150's score will get them to their school. And I think every one of us decides whether law is worth the lengthy study time or whether we are done with it after some time. We can't tell you whether you should cut your losses or go to something else because we are not you and really, you are the only one that can make that decision. But make it an informed decision - do what you need to do to figure out what kind of changes you need to make and if you are willing to make those changes.
Has anyone or is anyone taking the March exam at Lehigh? I wanted to go and take a PT there but no one seems to know anything about the lsat. Anyway, they told me that there is no place for me to take a PT but she didn't seem quite sure herself. If anyone has any info on the test center can you share your experience?
We use a meal-delivery service and that has saved us.
Can someone please tag me or send me the link for the post that has the RC session that JY is hosting in NYC? I can't find it even with doing a search.
Thanks.

Aw man, they took it down. Bummer.
Its still here:

I looked at this game and I noticed that JY got the answer by seeing which world each of the answer choices could belong to. He did not get the answer by selecting every game piece that could be in Finance from all worlds. So, I see your confusion because I would have thought that H should belong in the correct answer since H is included in one of the worlds.
I ended up doing a little digging and I found the answer in the comments section (gotta love all the helpful 7Sagers out there). Take a look at the interaction between henry_01 and Heart Shaped Box. Basically - the question is a "could be true" so yeah AC E could be true in one of the worlds and AC C could not be true in one of the worlds. Also, as Heart Shaped Box said in his comment, if the question had asked "which one of the following is a complete and accurate list of the maximum number of people in Finance", then yes, we would need to count all of the game pieces in all the worlds but that's not what we are being asked. Subtle but def worth remembering for future games.
As an aside for this question, instead of doing it JY's way do the question by going through each of the rules - like you normally would for an acceptable situation question (usually the first question). You will see that AC C can't be possible because it violates the fourth rule that G and U are forever apart. If you don't see G or U in an answer choice then they both have to be in the other group and that can't happen - so another reason why AC C is wrong.
I hope this helped. Thank you for asking this question because it helped me too to figure out why AC C could not be the right answer and the subtle differences in the way certain questions are phrased.
So I'm a big fan of JY but I must admit that the explanation video for this question left me disappointed (but I can't quit you JY so still love ya). I understand that this is a two-star question but I had difficulty with the correct answer, after having done this question a few times and still choosing the answer all those times. Your explanation that the wrong answers were "stupid" was not helpful : (.
Luckily, @akistotle came to the rescue and posted a few similar questions and you (JY) did a great job at explaning those. So, for anyone else needing more explanation on this type of question I suggest you take a look at this post below from @akistotle. He has links to several types of similar questions. Reviewing each of those was very helpful for me to understand this flaw type.
https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-39-section-2-question-05/
The way I thought about AC B is that testing should have been done in a neutral location for the study to have any validity. I was thinking, well the factory workers were exacerbating their poor sense of smell with the sulfur all around them so ofcourse they only identified 10% of the scents. I thought this weakened the study which weakened the argument.
To your first question - are you assuming that the workers have lost all sense of smell? When I read that the sulfur fumes permanently damaged one's sense of smell I didn't think that they couldn't smell anything but rather than their sense of smell is not that good anymore. We really don't know the degree of their damaged sense of smell because we don't know how long the factory workers have been working at the factory. So (to your second question), if a factory worker was there 3 months does that mean that their sense of smell is permanently damanged? I don't know. I think the key word is "prolonged" in the conclusion - we don't know how long that is. Is 3 months too long? 3 years? 13 years? 30 years? We don't know.

Yea it'd be cool if we could download or print without having to sign up with scribd..
I signed up and still wasn't able to download it or print it.
@cb504526991 how are you "paying it forward" if you are not making your study sheet available? If you can add a direct link to your study sheet it would truly help us all out.
Apologies! A friend suggested scribd and I was just here for a good time, not a long time, so I jumped at using it without realizing that it was largely unaccessible. Anyways, hope the new link works for ya and best of luck studying!
@cb504526991 you rock!!! thank you!!!
I don't think that your new wording would do anything to the argument. EZ already has above average staff - ok, great, now what? The conclusion still holds that EZ could boost its profits by having more parties.
Also, the premise will always be applicable - its always true and always applicable. What you are trying to do is weaken the support that the premise gives to the conclusion.

Consider this analogous argument: just because we know smoking causes cancer does not mean that if we know that rate of cancer increased so did smoking. There could be other causes of cancer.
Answer choice B is talking about the actual amount of alcohol consumed increasing over the years but the stimulus only gives us information that increasing alcohol consumption increases the amount of injuries not on slopes. But from the stimulus we only know that the amount of injuries not on slopes increased over the years. But this does not mean that now we can say amount of alcohol consumption also increased.
Your answer is much more eloquent than mine
I looked at this question and eliminated B, C, and D right away. I kept A and E and ultimately chose E as the answer. I eliminated AC B because we don't know that the amount of alcohol increased between 1950 and 1980. All the stimulus is telling us is that the incidence of injuries increases with the amount of alcohol consumed - that doesn't mean that we know that alcohol consumption increased.

@cb504526991 Thank you and congratulations! How do we download the study guide? I've been trying to print and save it but having a hard time. Thx for your help.

There is not much that makes me feel old, but threads with significant discussion of learning to type is one of them. I guess everyone did not take typing in high school, on actual type writers. Long live the 80s!
I'm with you! I very much remember typing class with actual typewriters!
If you are going for first round decisions then the sooner the better. Sure, you can wait til Jan but why would you do that? Take it in October apply and see what happens. Take it again in November in case you can increase your score.
