I am 27 and a mom of 3. I told everyone I was going to law school but I have yet to attend... I ended up switching career paths and got my Master's in Cybersecurity to enter the GRC field. Has that happened? Nope. I've been the first in my family to obtain a bachelors and the only one so far to obtain a masters and I opened up my own business yet I still feel like a failure. I stopped my path to law school back in 2022 and every year after that I always get the itch to try again. Last year I impulsively applied to a cohort with only 25 seats with a horrible LSAT score from 2022 and of course got rejected. But this year, I took it a step further and decided to take the LSAT again.
Honestly, what has been keeping me motivated studying this time around (it helps because I love school supply shopping) is I've created an Amazon list of things I need/want for law school. When I get that acceptance letter I will finally be able to get those supplies I love in that list. Also, I think of myself as a very competitive person, so I am always trying to beat my last score, even if its just drills and not full pts.
Just know you're not alone, and there is probably way more of us out there with similar situations. If you're ever looking for a virtual study buddy let me know! Sometimes it helps to pick others brains when they get something that you don't and vise versa.
I took my first LSAT back 2022 and then life happened and I never got back into it. Here I am again, a masters degree, 3 kids, and a new business later attempting to take it again. Surprisingly, logic games were my strong suit but LSAC has now done away with them. Also, apparently they went back to in person testing as of this month? I'm curious to see if anyone is in the same boat as me and what they think of all the changes. I plan on sitting for the exam in September and already signed up for October too.
@ChaseChevy I totally get that! Between housework, running an online boutique, school drop offs, after school activities, running after a toddler while caring for an infant, and trying to study for this dang test is rough.. But I try to remind myself to give myself grace and that theres many people who still go to law school later in life and with kids.. If they can do it, so can we.
