P: The older the person being interviewed, the more likely the person refused to answer the questions.

C: Young people are more likely than old people to answer personal questions.

Age is assumed to be the cause for the correlation of young people being more likely than old people to answer questions.

Since I erroneously thought the premises and conclusion were the same, I chose answer D and I also didn't understand choice A.

Hello- I'm in a similar situation.

My paraphrasing of the argument: 1) The more sunlight the Earth reflects back into space, the cooler the atmosphere becomes.

2) Snow and ice reflect more sunlight than lands without snow cover (eg. ocean water).

Therefore, the more Earth that is covered with snow and ice, the cooler the atmosphere becomes.

I guess the gap is that we don't know if snow and ice combined creates a special effect which interferes with the cooling of the atmosphere.

I chose D too: the atmosphere derives most of its heat from the passage of sunlight through it as the strengthener because I didn't understand C.

Thanks for the input! I'm looking at a semester's worth of classes. Hopefully LSAC gives me a specific answer. :)

I did a semester abroad that was not calculated into LSAC GPA. I had a long email exchange with them about that but essentially you will have to send them the foreign transcripts and they'll provide the law schools with a courtesy copy in its original form. The study abroad will be excluded if it's less than one year (which is what is true in your case). There are cases where study abroad grades less than a year will be calculated if and only if your home institution already included it into their transcript, which doesn't sound like your case.

Hold up, my home institution has accepted the semester's worth of courses from the foreign university so they have course numbers from the Chinese department of my home institution. So it sounds like LSAC will count them.

Thank you for the thoughtful insight! Seems the best route is to contact LSAC.

So I did NOT think we could assume

1) self-disparagement = not self-accepting

2) dismissive of others = not accepting of others

*asking because I got a B on a class for not attending field trips (lol) and my university strangely transferred this Chinese culture class as "Geography of China"

I'm sure my bureaucratic uni would not take this B out even if I begged and cried

Hello! Thanks for the input. Each of my study abroad classes have transferred back with a course number from my domestic university, so these are all classes under the Chinese department (public college in NYC). There's no listing of the foreign university or name of the study abroad program on my transcript. From what you're saying, the grade would be factored in :(

Would appreciate other comments!

I'm in your position and wondering the same. Didn't mention to my recommenders when I'll be applying. I'm going to ask Admissions Counselors in person when I can.

Is this an older tests where the 2nd person in a dialogue can be ignored? I believe these types of questions don't appear anymore, can someone correct me.

I'd like to join the study group if it's happening in lower Manhattan. I work close by. Brookfield Place sounds like a good place to meet. Can someone add me to the group?

Update: I just clicked on the original poster's link and apparently my question was asked there already. So it doesn't seem like a year-old letter would make a difference. Let me know what you guys think anyway.

I'm applying for next year's cycle but I told half my recommenders I'm applying this year before I decided against it. Although, I can't see how a letter from a year ago would necessarily have a negative effect on my application. Can someone explain why/if the letter should be dated most recent to the date applying?

Haha, the event was very informative so I'm glad I went! There were two admissions reps but only one presented (she was very engaging, is a Penn alum and Philly native) and also two recent alumni, both working in NYC biglaw currently. I didn't know Penn emphasized the "inter-disciplinary" approach to law -- I think around 30% of students get dual degrees (check website for exact stats) with the most common one being MBA/ JD. If I heard correctly, this is the most popular dual degree option and you have to apply to the MBA program with an additional JD application supplement. I think all the joint degree programs require a separate additional application. There's also many certificate programs, which can be thought of as a "minor" in law school (interesting analogy they shared). UPenn has two phases of Early decision apps. I was pretty impressed with how they seem to have a lot of career services support with 10+ counselors working in their center.

The only negative thing about the event was its timing at 7PM to past 8PM, that's smack in the middle of dinner time for me. It makes sense for the alum though since 7 is probably when they get off work.

Hope this was informative! I'm not sure how I feel about Philadelphia yet as a place to live, but PennLaw is definitely on the top of my list. :)

Dress code for Law School Open House

UPenn is doing an open house at a law firm in NYC today and I was wondering if office attire is recommended, for the reason the location is a law firm. I know the answer is probably going to lean towards yes. What do you guys think?

For Q12 I chose E because I thought C was too vague - the passage talks about more than one successful legal argument and we don't know if "a successful legal argument" is describing the one used to defeat separate but equal doctrine. Ans choice C could be referring to the successful argument used for Shelley v Kraemer (line 44). #help

Is there a video explaining causal statements versus conditional? I chose E for the MSS question in the subject line because I contraposed the causal statement as well. I was deciding between D and E, and with E I thought something was not right with the word "cause". I think if "then" was substituted for "cause", Answer choice E would be correct.

Gap year advice

Besides working or volunteering, does anyone have any other ideas for interesting learning experiences? I know I am looking for a way to develop my leadership skills and overall bring a project idea to life. I am also interested in doing legal research for a journal or even volunteering for a law professor, but I can see how it'd be difficult undertaking legal work now without having any any formal legal training.

How do fellow 7sagers view a gap year before law school or simply a gap year from work and school responsibilities? Thanks for sharing!

I need to postpone

I'm registered for the November 2018 LSAT and as of now the earliest date I can postpone to is January 2019.. I'm going to apply next cycle so I'm thinking about the September 2019 date. It doesn't look like this option is available yet. I already emailed LSAC about this but anyone know what their reply would be?

Thank in advance.
