this Is an annoying stimulus !

Random bullet points:

-Focus on the stimulus first, the answer choices are 80% wrong and traps. Work through the stimulus and notice the jumps that frequently happen between premises and conclusions.

-The first 10 questions will be the easiest, be confident with what you put down in that range.

-Don't, don't spend 2+ minutes on pretty much any LR question but especially the ones around question 18-16 because they're meant to be hard and slow you down. Skip! Go for a low hanging fruit question or something that you can quickly answer and save those harder ones for when you have more time at the end.

I got this right. Was stuck between A and B but B does feel like you have to assume that people who would vote for M are going to vote for Y now.

Both would be "late". Some schools may have an April deadline but you're cutting it very close plus if you did get accepted, a lot of their scholarship funds have already been given out.

Would also want some help with this! I usually miss 9-11 on each LR section. Blind Review I'm I'm lucky I've gotten it down to -6 a few times but would like to get even less wrong !

Is sobriety taboo in admissions?

So as I redo my resume from my previous cycle, it's very clear to me that becoming sober has greatly improved my life and frankly I think I am much more put together as a person and will be a stronger candidate for law school. My drug of choice was alcohol which is something I know a lot of people struggle with even if it's in private. Now...I'm not really sure if I want to or if it's necessary to bring that up in a personal statement. But I attend a support group (not AA) for my sobriety and I am unsure if that's like unprofessional to say? I thought about mentioning it in the post-college or personal activities section.

On one hand, this is something I'm proud of and it means a lot to me to be a supportive person in their sobriety journey. But I also can see maybe an admissions officer saying (hm, that person had alcohol problems before, he shouldn't come to our school).

Where to Start drilling?

I've finished the core curriculum logic games section. I feel determined to finish -2 or -0 on the actual Logic Games section come January. When I did the core curriculum. I would do the section timed, blind review, watch the explanation, and usually when I finished the explanation video I would redo the game from scratch and do somewhere between -1 or -0 for those two games in that problem set.

Now that I've finished the whole Logic Games section of the course, I want to do 2 games a day, review them, and repeat the game until I miss none of the questions. I don't think this will take long because after I watch the explanation video, I usually don't miss much and finish with time left. But my question is, should I even bother with doing games from Prep Tests 1-35 since they're old? When I got to the MIsc Section of LG in the course, I noticed how different those games were and how I probably wont see them again in January, and would rather perfect the standard: linear, in/out, grouping etc. games. I'm thinking maybe from now till January I can focus on drilling the Newer/Newest Logic Games?? Thoughts? Also, before I found 7sage I used the LSAC prep books and completed like the first 10-15 Prep Tests that were released on my own, but before I did blind review and had all of the wonderful tricks and tips that I learned from 7sage.

Side note, I did the Logic Games from PT 43 recentlly and went -6. I didn't blind review or time that section, because I was just doing it casually with some Youtube in the background because I was bored.

Give it a year, try to get a 160+ and apply (Regular decision) around September - November next year. You will have more scholarship offers. If you apply early decision you are locking yourself in to go to that school and the scholarship offer might not be the best. Especially since you are URM (I am too) I would shoot for something over a 160.

E feels like a better answer than D because it's saying there's no real relation between the disease, the male cat, and the hypothalamus

I chose D for 9 but see calling it "essential " is too strong. Passage A just says it's like a byproduct

Hey! I'm interested. I'm registered for the October 2021 test. Got a 147 on the July 2020 test and a 156 on the January 2021. Also looking to hit those 170s by October  I'm down for meeting about an hourish per week. I've done about 60% of the Core Curriculum already. I've also done (not all) but quite a few PTs already so our PTs might not line up exactly but don't mind reviewing a few sets here and there I've seen before.

I didn't choose A because I felt like it just said something clearly already in the stimulus. But I guess that's why it's the right answer?

I chose E at first because I thought E gives reasons why O is bad. Which it does but, that doesn't explain why O is not the best choice. B says you should't use O because using O is counterproductive to the goals of making a good garden.

"Any and all advice is appreciated" Hope I'm not leading you astray, but I've heard Northeastern consdiers everyone who applies for their public interest scholarship.

Directly from this link below it says,

"To be considered for the full-tuition Public Interest Law Scholarship (PILS) applicants must first gain admission to the law school. All applications received by the priority deadline of March 1, will automatically be considered for the PILS Award. Applicants who apply after the deadline may be considered as space and time allow."

https://www.northeastern.edu/law/admission/jd/financial-aid/public-interest/pils.html

Also, Northeastern has a unique program that they guarantee you'll graduate with a year of work experience.

Sources: Besides just gooling and applying to Northeastern myself, I went to college in Boston. Northeastern has a pretty cool campus, but I know Masschusetts/New England isn't everyone's vibe.

Can someone explain D being right? I chose it originally but decided that it couldn't be correct because in my mind I thought it was just restating the conclusion. the conclusion being" we shouldn't hesitate to fund shocking art"

Totally okay if you don't know but @ can you choose where the hotel is? I can easily get to a hotel like 10-15 minutes away. I just don't want it to be decided by LSAC and then I have to go to some location I'm not comfortable with on test day.

Let's say partner wants to go to med school in Chicago, I would apply to 4-6 law schools around the Chicago area. I wouldn't put too much weight into the predictor. It's a tool but it's not the equivalent of an admissions person actually reading your file. Maybe apply to some schools just one state away too just for safety?

Where are y'all taking your test?

So I've done 2 official tests, both being at home and honestly...I know from working from home for well over a year, close to two years now that I don't work best at home. My house is hard to keep quiet because I live with my dad and brother and they can be noisy. Is it possible to get a proctor and a classroom somewhere like the old days?

I know that might sound bizarre but like I just perform SO much better when I'm in a space that is absolutely silent. Maybe I'm best off by just saying to my dad and brother, "Hey on this day please just be out of the house for like 3-4 hours?" I would love to take a test at a library but don't think that could be an option?

I chose C because I didn't see any evidence that defined what a politicians job should be. But, I guess in the wrong answer choices, they can just be things that weren't said at all? Just because something wasn't said in the stimulus doesn't inherently make it a MBF choice. E makes sense since that is a contradiction, but I didn't chose E because I didn't see "obeying the rules of society" in the answer choice so I thought that made it wrong.
