LOL we need to have a petition to tell JY to give actual explanations for each answer. This is the fourth time I am encountering such an abysmal effort to explain a question just TODAY. we are all here to learn and paying good money for it so I think an explanation should be given. I hope that for the new LSATs they take this advice into consideration and start giving proper explanations otherwise this is not fair to all of us who want to do well.

I also got question 13 wrong like many people. After looking at other forums I found that "in-world sales for virtual currency" they mean in the game not in the real world. So essentially the question is saying "in-game (virtual) sales for virtual currency. This is why A is wrong because it says real-life (not virtual) sales for virtual currency so D would be the correct answer. That is the only coherent way I found of understanding the question.
I notice people in the comments who have gotten it wrong give incorrect explanations or try to convince themselves why the correct answer is correct without actually understanding it. I understand it is all in good faith but it can be extremely misleading and lead to more confusion. Also it doesn't help that JY failed to explain the answers properly. If anyone from 7sage is reading this please ask him to go into more detail for each answer instead of using the "its wrong because its not right" approach. It would help us understand the question more especially for a tougher question such as this one.
Hi this explanation is incorrect and can lead to more confusion for other people.
Hi, this is not the correct explanation. They don't mean real-world items they mean in-game items. In-word sales are not in- (virtual) world sales.
Hi. I was confused between the cost vs value as well and it is confusing because cost and value are both discussed. But I don't think that they are confused with each other. wasting money vs well worth its cost. both statements are discussing value and cost. the former is saying that the cost is not worth the value the second is saying the cost is worth the value. so both are discussing cost and value but not confusing them with each other.
Secondly, D appears to be the bigger flaw so you can also use process of elimination and go with the bigger flaw.
there is an implied connection between more productive use = student performance. I thought the money could have gone to other uses that would have been more productive. Even if you negate be you can still say "ok but retaining teachers is still the more productive use" but it is the answer the makes the most sense.
I would love to join a group!
Hi. I also picked E but the reason why E is incorrect is because although descriptively accurate it is not the main point of the passage. E says the research has explained the visible similarities between the two. But that wasn't the main point of the research. The main point was to uncover the mystery of their evolutionary origins which D alludes too.
The similarity was just a fun fact that they realized, not the reason the study was conducted and not the reason the passage was written.
