For anyone who is struggling to differentiate between C & D I looked at another site to get more help with this question & they explained it perfectly.

Both answer choices are similar but answer choice D adds "wish to avoid gaining body fat" and answer choice C is assuming that gaining fat is not desirable. We should not assume that.

Therefore, D is correct. I hope this helps someone.
