I'm personally offended that B is the correct AC since it requires you to make assumptions that we've been SPECIFICALLY taught not to make.

Annoyed.

Score dip in the LR in the 80s

My LR score has been fairly consistent in the 60s and 70s. I thought I improved from going -5 to getting between -1 and -3 on LR sections.

But I recently took PT 82 and scored -7 on an LR section. I'm taking the August LSAT and obviously this is kinda freaking me out.

The language seems more convoluted and I find that the arguments harder to understand.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how did you deal with it?

#help

Could anyone provide an example of what a "logical contradiction" would look like?

I was able to improve my LR a lot from -8 to -1 to -4 by being more confident in my choices the early questions (1-12), selecting the choice and moving on. This let me have more time to tackle the more difficult questions which sometimes required me to spend over 2 minutes on them. It is true that the later LR questions are more difficult.

If you are getting the last questions wrong due to insufficient time, work on timing strategies. But if you aren't getting them right in BR either then you should just keep drilling and practicing.

Does anyone know if we are allowed to use Ctrl. F on the LSAT Flex? I've heard of people using it but is it official?

I also got this question by process of elimination without really knowing why it was correct but JY made it super clear!

I also thought about it in terms of a pizza party. In a class, the teacher could ask the students what pizzas they prefer.

Let's say 20% said cheese, 30% said pepperoni and 50% vegetarian. Assuming that they were ordering 10 pizzas, the teacher would logically order 2 cheese pizzas, 3 pepperoni and 5 vegetarian to reflect the popularity of the types.

But we can't say that Timmy who wanted cheese pizza would like this distribution. He likes cheese pizzas so he would most likely prefer ordering 10 cheese pizzas.

RC Inference style questions

RC is by far my worst section-- and the most inconsistent which worries me. I can go from -3 to -8 between preptests.

I find that on preptests I get a lot of inference questions wrong. I'm usually able to eliminate the obvious wrong AC fairly quickly BUT I ALWAYS select the trap AC.

I was wondering how other people tackle these problems and if anyone else has similar problems with inference questions!

I think they're just experiencing high volume rn.

Keep trying every couple of minutes! It should eventually load.

Scratch paper during LSAT Flex

Hi everyone, August Lsat-flex taker here.

I wanted to ask what kind of scratch paper we are allowed to use. I think it states blank paper but I heard from lots of people that took the previous flex that they used lined paper without problems.

I would also prefer to use lined because my writing tends to get messy with blanked.

I got this question wrong because the answer choices felt different from normal strengthening answer choices. I found that in a lot of strengthening questions, JY emphasizes how we are supposed to strengthen the support that the premise gives to the conclusion. Here the AC just points to another example that exemplifies the conclusion.

I didn't realize that that was another way to strengthen..
