Yale Personal Statement - Peer Review

Good Afternoon,

I wanted to reach out to any fellow 7sagers in the community about exchanging personal statements for the Yale Personal Statement Essay. I resonate with this deeply as I have taken the LSAT mutiple times and have a vision to create a corporation based on extending the life expectancy for humans. I was very hard on myself in trying to get into a good school but I have come to the conclusion that the school I go to and the score I receive is miniscule compared to the things that are to come in my future. I am very appreciative of the process of stagnating in between my scores and seeing little progress along the process as it taught me that the negative conntation failure has in the society we live in is completely false. Instead it has taught me to embrace failing as it means your pushing yourself to the absolute limit. Its been a beatiful time going through this journey as I am one step away from completing my next metamorphsis. I wish everybody on this chat the best of luck in their future endeavors and hope to work together to unite our society.

I usually read a snippet of a book or learn something new just to keep the stimulation within my brain engergized so when I get back to the LSAT I am able to use this sense of stimulation to devour the questions and dissect logic games, and reading comprehension. Meditiating is very helpful as well as visualization techniques. For instance when using visualization imagine yourself as a hawk the apex predator and your flying through your territory and all of sudden you see an open window.( Please close your eyes with this exercise) You fly through this open window and transform into a human but 5 years from the present. Ask yourself where are you ? What are you doing? Who is around you and what has changed around you in the scenery. I do this exercise another time for the 10 years increment of life and it helps to remove the anguish I have and come back to the test feeling reinvorgated. Also breathing techniques can help in your confidence.

Hi I also took this test 3 three times and was demoralized by my scores. I have a vision to go to law school and use it as a stepping stone towards my utlitmate goal. Keep going regardless of how frustrated you are as this will lead to the next stage of your metamorphsis. Its a part of the process just continue to give your all and ask yourself

How badly do I want this and what would I sacrifice to get it ?

I know you may not want a high score in the 160 or 170 but keep drilling take a day meditate and self evaluate then return on do it again in a day or so. I believe in you and I am certain you will far suprass your limits.

Good Morning,

I have also felt the same way after taking my Jan. LSAT i didnt do very well and overstudied i pushed myself beyond the brink and stopped studying for 2 weeks or so. The way i found my motivation is that i told myself is that this is a test of my character and this test can be overcome. My advice is tell yourself you will study today and stick to it after that write down a regimen that you will hold yourself regardless of what is going in your life. You have not forgotten anything it is still there believe in yourself as i believe in your abilitiy. Review anything you feel as if you need to and jump right into it and while at first it my deter to continue to study but push yourself and stick to it. Mental Discipline is key to success and don't stray off this regimen. Find the motivation in yourself to continue becasue after all a Law Degree has an infinite amount of opportunities. What i do to keep myself responsible is to create an accountable mirror where every morning i see that mirror and tell myself i will hold myself responsible and even if i didnt study today i will study tomm. I hope this helps please dont be detered remind yourself why you started this journey and bring out the fire. Best of luck in your future endeavors
