For anyone using Powerscore with 7sage:
In 7sage LR language, how would you classify/approach the LR Question type: "Justify the Conclusion" (this is Powerscore language). I am using both resources together.
Thanks!

When doing a timed PT, try solving the games you are confident in first. Once you build up momentum, I find the "new" types of games aren't as intimidating.
I'd suggest trying out different notation strategies (either during a 35 min drill or during a full PT). Check your RC score after you try out a certain strategy. I think there are tons of good resources for notation but it comes down to what makes the most sense for YOU and what will help YOU understand/memorize the passage best. I found that I had to experiment with strategies to find what worked for me.
Also (after lots of practice and drilling passages) a key suggestion (that worked for me at least) is to refer back to the passage as little as possible (other than when there is a specific line reference). This comes with confidence which ultimately comes with doing tons of passages.
I am cosidering purchasing a package to complete the CC. For a bit of background: I previously self studied from January until June, with the intention of taking the June LSAT. As the test approached I wasn't scoring consistently at my target score so I postponed for the September LSAT.
I've learned all the fundamentals through self study and taken around 27 pts with scores ranging from 150s to low 160s. My questions are:
I've taken a week off to reset so I don't burn out. Any other tips for what to do until September would be appreciated!
Thank you!
@ Both Dalhousie and Windsor (Dual) program does not have a character limit, if you were still wondering which Canadian schools do not have a limit. That being said, I think it is still important to write concisely
Agreed! This is what I keep telling myself. I'm also telling myself how tomorrow will just be another one of my PTs I have been doing for months, except I am just writing in a different location! Nothing special, nothing new. Just another PT with some other people around me and someone other than my proctor app calling out 5 minutes.
Yeah I think I'll just stick with 1. I'm just over-thinking it!
@ Oh! I'm taking PT 79 tomorrow as my last PT... Hahaha
Can we bring more than 1 watch on test day?
I am putting a new battery in my analog watch but just to be SUPER cautious... haha can we bring more than one? Does anyone know?
I predict 3 regular games and 1 "weird" game. As long as we push through the first 3 and you have time left over to account for the "weirdness" of a game, a "hard" LG section should be doable. At least in my experience in previous practice PTs.
We are all capable of attacking any game!! Let's stay positive!!
Are those two PTs you took (75 & 77) the only recent PTs you have taken? I find that once I switched over to more recent PTs (around PT 70+) there is a slight shift in LR wording/difficulty.
Overall, don't stress! You have a good average and scores can fluctuate. Some tests play to our weaknesses. It could be beneficial to go back to those PTs and see if you are getting any LR questions wrong that have similar components (such as conditional reasoning, formal logic, causality, etc). Maybe a quick review of fundamental concepts will help in addition to drilling LR? Good luck!
I'm wondering if I hadn't heard how hard it is and then just took PT 81, if my score would be different. Either way, agreed! It was pretty tough.
So I just took PT 81.. Overall got 166! Pretty happy. I have been PT-ing between 167-173. So a small drop but not that bad :)
Got -6 on RC which is lower than what I usually score. Considering all the RC stories about this PT I was expecting to do worse. But still not super happy it went down. Also the experimental I added for this PT was also an RC (took both RCs back to back for endurance) and on the experimental (older RC) I got -2
For those of you who have taken PT 81, what are your thoughts on why and how RC was (by consensus) more difficult than other RC sections? Just wondering how I should go about analyzing my work in BR of this RC section (to learn the most from this RC section! Who knows PT 82 might also have a similar RC..)
This is awesome, thank you! Feeling more positive as we head into Saturday :)
Depends on when you're taking the LSAT (how far away you are from your test date as well as how many PTs you can realistically take without burning out (burn out is oh so real). So I'd suggest to plan backwards and that way you can figure out how many sections you need for drills.
Yes untimed is a great way to improve as well!

@ I'll do that! Thank you :) does it matter which PT I pull the RC passages from? like should I do -20 and save 35+ for the actual full PT?
I've had similar experiences with being frustrated when I need to "brute force" some games/questions.
What I always do is pay attention to fixed variables/boxes (depending on the type of game). I find that most answers will centre around these. Since floaters are (often) interchangeable - when I am doing a question that I must brute force, I try to look to my "fixed" game pieces or big box, etc.
For the September exam: What would be a solid PT taking schedule for a full-time LSAT student? I want to take as many PTs as possible (without burnout) while having enough time to do a proper BR.
I'm thinking 3 (maybe 4..) PTs a week?
Any suggestions on a good PT plan until the September exam? I want to make sure I have a good mix of old and newer PTs as the PTs 60+ are more difficult.
(Note: I've already done around 20 PTs as I was prepping for the June exam but extended to September as I wasn't hitting my target score area).
Any advice appreciated on how to make use of the next 2 months in regards to PTs. Thanks!
Drill RC sections by themselves, 35 min each. Once you see your scores improving there, you'll feel more confident during a full PT. Also, I know it sounds cheesy, but if you try to get interested in the topics of each passages, I find I always do better when I am engaged. I remind myself before every RC passage that I am about to learn 4 new mini topics (this way RC feels less daunting)
Just wondering if the font size of the actual test is the same as when I print 7sage PTs?
The font size of the 7sage PTs are slightly smaller than the font on PTs from official LSAC books/resources (as least in my opinion).
Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks!
Will it be on sale until the end of today?
I'm pretty nervous as well! What really helps calm me down is constantly reminding myself that Saturday's exam will eventually become just another released practice PT that some other person in the future will be using for a drill/a practice PT. I know it common sense but it helps me calm down.
Good luck!
So the stimulus used "most" and "virtually every"
Th correct answer used "nearly all" and "most"
Does "nearly all" equate to most?
Spotted it in a parallel reasoning question!
When scoring a test that has a question labelled as Item removed from scoring do we leave it empty when inputting our answers? Does the analytics tool account for this computing our score? Similarly, does anyone know what this means?
So if a LR section was originally out of 25 questions and there is an item removed, do we calculate this section based out of 24 question instead?
Hello everyone.. some advice needed!
A bit of background.. I am registered for the June 2017 date and I am wondering if I should postpone to September? I've taken around 18 PTs. My goal is to get 160+ on the actual test (mid 160s would be ideal). I've only PT'd between 160-164 on 5 PTS. Below is my recent trend:
PT 64 162
PT 65 160
PT 66 160
PT 67 158
PT 68 158
PT 69 159
PT 70 164
PT 71 163
PT 72 158
PT 73 159 (taken yesterday)
As you can see.. with June test approaching Monday I've started to get stuck in the 158-159 score. I also want to account for the test day drop in points due to nervousness because I've heard this is something definitely to factor in?
I've been told you need to be consistently scoring higher than your goal on multiple PTs in order to be ready, however with a few days left, I'm still not there..
Should I stick with June test on Monday or Postpone to September? (Disclaimer: I would be able to devote to studying over the summer full-time).
Any advice appreciated! Thank you!
This happened to me today! I got a 164 after being in the 168-171 range last couple of tests. Turns out I mis-read/mis-diagrammed some LG rules and my LG section was significantly lower which brought my entire score down. LR and RC as well as my experimental (LR) were consistent. So what I am doing/suggesting is to review what section was the issue (i.e ask yourself did you have one section that brought you down?). Also trying not to panic with the test so close. Confidence is key! Also assess if you were more tired/did anything different this time around (different snack, not the usual routine before a PT, etc)
Keep drilling on question types that are giving you the most trouble (between taking full timed PTs)
