To anyone who paid for score preview, finished the LSAT writing and took the rest of the exam: how soon after were you able to see your score? Was it sent via e-mail or did it show up at the end of the test?

My understanding is that score preview doesn't actually allow you to see your score any earlier than anyone else. It just allows you a six day window to cancel that score before it is sent to law schools. (the term "score preview" is quite a misnomer in this case)

That being said, I could be totally wrong and would love for others to confirm or deny this.

This was kind of an alarming question to me because, as others have mentioned, the flaw in the argument was not clear to me at all before going into the answer choices. Usually I want to be able to anticipate the answer choices, but I was completely blank. Luckily E stood out to me very clearly and after reading it I returned to the stimulus and realized the importance of "licensing" to the entire argument.

I guess the trouble is ... did I just get lucky? Should I have been able to pick up on that before going into the answer choices? Thankfully none of the other ACs were very tempting, in my opinion.

How to break past -4 in RC

#help

I consistently get -4 on the RC section. There seems to be no rhyme or reason regarding the questions I miss. They're mostly different question stems. They are often but not always the hardest questions. I try to review them and it always just seems to be a matter of the "content" (and in my opinion they always seem to be very arguable questions).

Either way, does anyone have advice on how to move past this plateau I'm on? With LR and LG, it seems to be much easier to find trends or patterns that help reveal why you're missing questions. But I struggle to do the same with RC.

@ reposting this in case you have an official answer:

QUESTION — if something technical goes wrong before or during the LSAT-Flex, what recourse do test takers have with LSAC?

Taking my test on Monday! And yet I woke up this morning to my IP address being stolen and the remnants of Hurricane Laura threatening to knock out internet in my region.

@ I'm not sure ... it was just there. I took the August test so I already had a ProctorU account. The browser remembered me so I didn't have to login. Not sure why the sign-ups were already available.

FYI, I just went in and scheduled. I didn't think it opened until noon today but I just checked in case and I had no problem scheduling. Didn't have to pull any type of special maneuver. Perhaps everyone already knows this.

It seems like JY's explanations vary to a great degree in terms of whether he encourages us to use outside/external information or life experience as a resource in answering questions. Here he clearly wants us to focus on the stimulus and block out any other knowledge. In other questions though, even on this PT specifically, he asks rhetorical questions aimed at our own life experiences and outside frames of knowledge as wasy to evaluate questions.I haven't found much rhyme or reason to it and I don't find it particularly helpful.

warm-up before test?

hey folks, does anyone "warm-up" before taking PTs and/or the real test? If so, how? This is an important question for me because one of my biggest challenges is staying focused and feeling clear.

I've found that sometimes doing a small set of questions from each section type can help my brain get in the groove, but sometimes it messes me up. Would love to hear how people get in the right mindspace before taking a test.

New to 7Sage, so apologies in advance if this has already been discussed!

Just wondering, is it safe to apply this same line of thinking to the Bible in this question? Since the main flaw is about confusing relative/absolute, am I correct that we still cannot conclude the Bible "exercised a great deal of influence" on the readers of the column? Say that everyone voted for four books almost equally, two books getting 250 votes each, one getting 249, and the bible getting 251.

Thanks y'all! It sounds like 7Sage > Trainer when it comes to LG. So knowing that, and given I have about two and a half weeks before my first LSAT (ruh roh), would y'all suggest going through the course syllabus for LG or just focus on the fool proof method / rigorous drilling?

When I review JY's video explanations for the games, I don't feel like I'm missing any core piece of fundamental knowledge, which makes me think I don't go need to relearn everything ... but ... idk

Anyone used LSAT Trainer by Mike Kim?

I loved that book as an overall guide and as a resource for RC and LR (my strengths) but I have not found its method (skill > memorization) to work for me in LG. I'm consistently running out of time by the third game and sometimes don't even make it to the third. Anyone been in my shoes?

I started with 7Sage like two days ago because I'm desperate to improve my LG and have started doing the 'fool proof' method of just repeating the same games or game sections over and over. Not sure if this will work but I'm giving it a whirl. I signed up for the August LSAT flex and have about two weeks left. My best PT is 161 and my goal is ~168.

Need advice on best ways to improve Logic Games!

In my reviews I'm trying to better distinguish between Necessary Assumptions and Sufficient Assumptions. This question seems like a good example of a question that is called an NA but its correct answer choice could also be correct for an SA question. Am I right in thinking that?

This trips me up a lot on RA questions that list an SA or Strengthening answer choice alongside the correct RA answer choice.

Would appreciate any tips from folks who have encountered this challenge!

I'm re-taking the test in October. I don't think I did particularly well in August since I choked and just couldn't focus on the rest of the test. I took a couple of days off but will get back to 2 tests per week and daily timed sections. I need to figure out how to deal with the nervousness that comes with the actual test - if anyone has any tips, I'd much appreciate it!

DITTO. Would be interested to hear more if you feel like sharing. I locked up on the first challenging LR question (which was my 1st section) and then for the rest of LR I was just a nervous wreck. Couldn't even think straight. I had been trying to do regular exercise and meditation and all that jazz to help the nerves, but I'm thinking that the only solution might be just an insane amount of practice under pressure. Let me know what you're thinking!

Thank you so much! That's very helpful. It's a good reminder to read for reasoning structure. I typically ask myself "why is the author writing this part?" I don't think that necessarily helps me get past the -4 tough questions that I keep missing but maybe I recentering that approach will help!
