Your third paragraph is why it's important to retrain your brain to only look at the information provided to you. A majority of the time, none of these will make sense in my opinion.

The point of the skill builder is to strengthen your pattern recognition skills to have a basic understanding of the structure of arguments (at least in my opinion)

I saw question 2 as merely nothing but claims being stated. Remember, there can be multiple claims that make up a premise but there are 3 ways to identify conclusions. Question 2 was an example of the first method where you want the author to simply get to the point, which never happened.
