How should I include part-time and volunteer work that took place in between the time I was employed full-time. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Right. Again, it’s not a matter of specifying part-time vs full-time. I just want to include some stuff I did between full time employment without giving each volunteer/part-time position it’s own line because of space concerns.
It’s a matter of space.
My apologies if I wasn’t clear about that.
I'm more asking that I don't want to individualize each of my part-time/volunteer work during this period, but I want to include it on my resume.
Do I have to say:
Experience
Current, full-time position x-present
-Description
Past, part-time position 1 x-x
-Description
Past, part-time position 2 x-x
-Description
Past, full-time position y-y
OR, can I say:
Experience
Current, full-time position x-present
-Description
Past, part-time position 1 and 2 x-x (positions have same duration)
-Description
-Description
Past, full-time position y-y
This is helpful, but unfortunately none of the info is directly related to my question.
There were a couple of months were I did volunteer and part-time work. I don't want each item to take up a separate line in my resume, but the experiences are different enough that I don't know if I can put them all on the same line. I refer to them on my employment gap addendum, but I would like to include them on my resume as well.
Any help for this specific question would be much appreciated!

Awesome. Thanks, Paul. I feel I would be competitive at most schools with my previous score, but I'm hoping/thinking December's score will give me a boost.
I have a similar question.
I have a score from the September test, but I feel like I did at least a couple of points better on the test last Saturday. I want law schools to see December's score when they review my application. If I submit my application before this score comes back, will my candidacy profile be automatically updated with my December score, or will I have to notify schools individually of my December score?
We have everything set? Had 2 LGs but can confirm everything else
LR Real (1) - [Removed] about fusion of atoms and heat (25 Qs)
LR Real (2) - [Removed] of herbal medicines that eventually become harmful (26 Qs)
RC Real - 1- Chinese speakers in San Fran, 2- Multiverse, 3- Comedy and chef IP [Removed], , 4 - Social Dariwinism (2 and 3 might be switched)
In a very similar boat but I've already taken PTs 76-82. These would be fresh for you, right?
Also, is this the first time you'll be sitting for the test?
This will be a retake for me, and I did not pump the brakes the couple of weeks leading up to my first test. This time, I think I will. Like you, the questions I'm getting wrong are usually from a misread. I don't think I'll get measurably better in any area before test day. I think it's just about being fresh enough to come in to the test strong and ready. I'll take a few PTs and do a few sections in the meantime so I don't get rusty.
Another questions for those in a similar boat - Is it better doing earlier PTs (in the 30s) that are fresh or PTs in the 70s that I've already done and studied months ago.
Looking forward to hearing more feedback on this thread.
I ended up not being able to make this! Does anyone have any notes they would be willing to share?
Hi all,
Do we really not need to address why we want to attend law school for schools that don't specifically ask for an answer in their PS prompt? It doesn't neatly fit into my PS, but one of my recommenders strongly suggested I include it.
Thanks!
I'll be here until December also. We got this!
Very little confidence in most of my answer choices for that passage. Never felt that way when I took PTs.
So, yes, v bitter.
It's more. How short is short? Just a paragraph explaining how I spent the time and how it's related to my law school path/motivation?
I'm applying after being out of undergrad for 2 years. I took time off work for a few months to study for the LSAT and move back to my home state to do more meaningful work. Does that need to be explained in an addendum? I was thinking of including it in part of my "Why X" narratives, but that may be out of place.
Thanks!
That's helpful! Thank you.
I was told by a former professor that the best personal statements he's seen for graduate schools often have some intellectual theme that is cited in the writing. For instance, having some academic's theory influence your decision making or perspective. However, that really does not fit in well with my personal statement.
Is that advice at all valid? Would an intellectual theme strengthen my personal statement if I could incorporate it?
Thanks!
Got a firm answer from LSAC that they can realign my bubbled answers to the appropriate question. I just have to tell them the specific question from which they should grade all the bubbled answers as if it were the answer to the next question.
I'm not sure if I've seen this on any other thread in 7Sage and it's worth knowing!
How obvious does this have to be? Any further clarity and/or advice would be appreciated.
Hi all,
As I was about to hand in my score sheet today, I realized that I only bubbled in 25 questions for my last LR section (which had 26 questions). During that section, I skipped 14 and came back to it to fill it in, so I know that 1-14 are okay. I have no sense of where I made the mistake from 15-26. If it was just the last page (2 questions) or last 2 pages (5 questions), I would not cancel my score because I thought the rest of the test went well. I also have my heart set on applying this cycle.
I never make bubbling mistakes during PTs in part because I check that my bubbles line up with the questions. I simply can not remember, though, if I lined up any answer post-14 with the appropriate bubble.
I would appreciate any advice people may have. For instance, if I do poorly and take again in December, will schools consider an addendum that explains I made a bubbling error?
Thank you.
Same here! In DC also
Great! Thanks
