Hey guys! Here's the official December LSAT Discussion Thread. Please keep all discussions of the December 2017 LSAT here!
Here's some ground rules, taken from my usual sticky:
We know that everyone will be excited to discuss what was on the Dec. '17 LSAT, but mentioning specifics about the test (e.g., "I got B for question 6" or "the 3rd LG was sequencing") can get both us and you in a lot of trouble with LSAC. Saying that the test was hard/easy without going into detail is okay, but anything more specific is not okay. LSAC monitors this forum.
If you're unsure what may be too specific, feel free to PM me with what you'd like to post.
The only exception is you can say which sections were real or experimental. For example, the LG with "flowers" was experimental. That's okay.
TL;DR: PLEASE don't talk specifics about December's LSAT!

That was experimental. My experimental was "which is LEAST like the reasoning above?" So that was an interesting take on a parallel reasoning question... I wish that experimental LR counted though. It was so obviously easy compared to the other two. This test's LR was pretty tough.
I think they are talking about another question. It wasn’t parallel. The stem was like “which of the following is least likely to be rejected based on the reasoning above?” Or something like that. It was like a MSS question in disguise or something. I remember reading that stem and thinking “wtf?” But I can not remember the topic at all.
Haha I have no clue, I don't even remember a Greek play question :wink: my poor memory of this test just doesn't work rn.
Ohhhhhhhhh, yeah! The Greek one was kind of like a "MSS/CBF" type thing haha. That one was real!
Right?! Why do we care so much, we can't change our answers. Our scores are already set in stone. There is no point in worrying, and yet here we are!

Important Distinction. There were 2 tests with the same format but different Q#s.
LR25, RC, LR25, LR26, LG
AND
LR25, RC, LR26, LR26, LG
If you had two LR26s then the 3rd section was experimental.
If you had two LR25 then the 1st section was experimental.
Honestly I'm traumatized. I know i effed up a real logic game and it was the last two that gave me the most trouble. The RC was fine until I had rush guess the last one. LR - I don't know. I had one experimental LR for sure but some of that was weird.
How do you guys remember all this crap? lol, I can remember the RC passages and 2 LG. No specific questions other than 1 in LR that really tripped me up. How do you do it? Everything was such a blur.
So...uh is there a curve?
Yes I took it in the US.
Also, one of the experimental LGs had to do with spices.
I think the writers may have been listening to “Scarborough Faire.”
Also, the T-Rex question in LR made me cringe, then lol. Good job on that one LSAC!

Did u take it in the US? I took mine overseas and I got the rumor LG section. So I guess that's the expermental for both of us

@cal270356 Honestly I think a -12 curve would be reasonable.
The real question is, HOW DO WE COPE WITH WAITING FOR SCORES
LR2 had questions about T. rex and vacuum for uncarpeted floor.
$5000-$18000 was real LR
@doyera854 Yeah the cleaning floors one was hard! One of the rules was really strange

Tbh I thought the real LG was kind of hard.

3 LR, 1 RC, 1 LG (the last one was about the 8 floors)
I hope the first LR was experimental because I totally bombed that one but I did okay on the other two LR sections. LG was nothing unusual, but I didn't manage my time well and rushed through the last game. Ugh. Guess there's always February?
The countdown is nerve wrecking.
So I am curious how you know the real sections from experimental. I personally had 3 LR, 1 LG, 1RC. I couldn't tell you specifics if I wanted because I don't remember, it was such a huge blur. Anyone's head still spinning when they think about it to much?

I honestly found some of it pretty hard. I think it either went really well or bad. I got two RCs, I thought the first one with the Chinese passage was the experimental because my second RC I found way easier.
LR: it was decent but there was some questions that was weird. The T-Rex one and there was one that asked which principles were rejected about the Greek play.
LG: It was decent until I got to the last game with the floor cleaning. It was really weird and I tried not to freak out. I honestly thought this LSAT seemed to have a lot more wrenches thrown at me than the more recent PTs I used (72-81).
Just want to say, I usually do fairly well with LR (-3 or -4 per section) but there were several questions that I could barely even figure out what they were asking. Maybe my brain was fried because it was section 5 but I legit could not even understand the dolphin question. I read it about 8 times and still had not even a clue. The Greek tablet one too. The answers all seemed insane, barely even related to the question. Black and white camouflage, I understood the question but the answers were all pretty wacky. The prehistoric fish fingers, I literally let out a quiet laugh because, first of all, the subject matter was bananas. Gonna have to go google finger fish lol. But also none of the answers seemed to fit at all.
I don't know if this all was test day brain fry, or the LR was significantly difficult. It felt pretty tough to me. The good news being, RC felt easier than average. So, crossing my (fish) fingers that they all balanced out and I scored around my average PTs.

I was really confident going in and felt the first two sections went ok (RC and LR)..a little short of time at the end of each and had to rush a little, but nothing horrible. Then I got the LG section with the floors and it just went south. I probably only got about half of that whole section. When I saw the second LG after the break (fruit one) I was happy, thinking the first one had to be the experimental. I did better on the second one but not as well as I’d like. Last LR was ok.
Disappointed that the 1st LG was the real one. I have no idea how I did overall, but suspect I’m going to be unhappy. Ugh
You are definitely not alone. I had the same test and that LG section is giving me anxiety even after the test.
Maybe I’m crazy but I felt like that was the easiest LG section I’ve ever done. I was kinda incredulous halfway through.
