Proposal: What if the principle that Gregory is defending is that handwriting analysts called as witnesses exaggerate the reliability of their analyses (because he concedes that "the current use of handwriting analysis as evidence is problematic"). And the class to which the principle is to be applied, is to irresponsible analysts. ?
