Hi @ I feel your pain. I've scored in the same 2 point range over my last 5 PTs and I really want to break 170 on the September test. @ I'm curious about the LSAT trainer - i haven't tried any materials other than 7sage or just practice tests. Do you think it would be worth it to buy now to prep for the September test, or am I going to be wasting time relearning concepts?

How much work experience on resume?

Hi! I'm working on my resume now for my applications, and I'm having trouble condensing it to one page. I've been out of school for about 5 years, and also had internships all throughout undergrad. I also have some significant volunteer and extracurricular things that I think would be meaningful to include.

On a regular resume for a job application, I simply cut my college internships because they are no longer relevant. What is more valuable for the law school resume? Awards/honors I received in college, professional skills, internships, or interesting extracurriculars?

Contrary to what everyone has already posted, Alabama sent out a coupon code to pay the $45 CAS fee. It came with an application fee waiver. Shout out to Bama! So at least one school “pays” the report fee and I wish more would!

I got an email a couple of days ago with a coupon code from Maryland for the CAS fee! I definitely wish more schools would do this. The $45 is a barrier to applying even if you have an app fee waiver.

The mining game really threw me too. I immediately recognized it was a weird game and skipped it, came back with 10 minutes and still couldn't finish. I think I panicked and couldn't nail down a game board. Everything else felt about average. The movie passage took me too much time. And the LRs sections weren't too bad, except the last two parallel logic questions on one of the sections just ended with me making a guess. It felt slightly better than the September test, but who knows.

I think this is a dumb question but the fee waivers don't cover the CAS report fees right? $45 for report is outrageous.

the spotify "Intense Studying" playlist is my jam lately, although I try to do practice tests in silence to prep for test day.

hi @ , you should definitely consult with your doctor about it, but i've been prescribed lexapro for almost 10 years now, off and on. It's very different for everyone, but for me and for many people, the withdrawal symptoms can be severe and last for many weeks. Personally, the brain fog of withdrawal is really bad.

I think it would be a big risk to alter medication before the test, especially an SSRI which has a significant effect on your brain. Melatonin is great, and you can also try L-Theanine, a natural supplement found in tea that works great in combination with a little caffeine to get your brain going.

I also swear by meditation - I love the Calm app which has tons of guided meditations including some for focus, deep concentration, and anxiety that are great for the morning before I start studying. I also use it for falling asleep!

I hope this helps - feel free to PM me if you want to chat anxiety/medications :)

Hi, I love this idea, and wish I could participate, but I only have the premium level course which only has access to PT 37-58. Has everyone already done these or is there a reason that most of the PTs on the schedule are those available through ultimate or ultimate+?

You can still participate! We are taking PT39, 47, 53, 57 from what you have access to. Also you can purchase the other on Amazon for a reasonable price or here through 7sage without having to upgrade the whole course. From my understanding the PTs chosen were based on a few factors most of which is that we are only able to take 12 PTs before the September test. Starting from the lower #PTs and ending with the most recent PTs is the best way to ensure we are getting the most of every PT we can. Has nothing to do with which course you chose I assure you. I actually started with the starter pack and decided after a few months that my best option was to upgrade. However that was many months ago and that may not be the best option for you so I would definitely say do what works for you. If you're interested here are some links to the PTs on Amazon.

If you prefer to purchase them here on 7Sage you can find them under course->extensions and preptests

Gotcha thank you!! I also just realized that it was 7:30 EST and I work full time on the West Coast so I couldn't join either way. If there are any other West Coast people who want to BR together let me know!

Tips on making the most of study time

I'm registered for the September test and am starting to freak out about it. I am ~4 years out of college and work a pretty demanding full time job, and have been studying as much as I can for about the last 9 months. I had not starting doing PTs except for my diagnostic a while ago which I scored a 163. I did my first PT since then over the weekend, and my score dropped to 160 after months and months of studying! I'm feeling discouraged because my target is 170. With only 12 weeks until the test, I've planned out realistically being able to do 16 more PTs. I'm worried this isn't enough, or if my time would be better spent drilling LG which is where I have the lowest scores. I'm missing 3 or less on RC, 5 or less on LR, and fluctuating wildly on LG. Any advice?

Just scored my all time best on LG section after weeks of nonstop foolproofing. I was missing at least half the questions before, and I got down to -4. Aiming big for a 170+ in September!

Public interest essays

Hi all,

While trying to avoid counting down the hours until score release tomorrow, I'm finishing up my app materials and I need to write a Public Interest essay for pretty much every school I'm applying to so I can qualify for PI scholarships. I feel like my PS is on lock, but was wondering if anyone knew of blogs or samples of successful PI essays out there? I'm especially worried about being repetitive with my PS, since I've worked in nonprofits for 7+ years and that's pretty much my life.

Thanks!

Yep. I went to a UCI campus visit and the admissions director said they can't promise to even read statements that don't follow directions.

I just redid this section and missed it AGAIN! I feel like you have to have background knowledge about termites to know that burrowing colonies spread.

LSAC Forum

Hey everyone, I just registered for the LSAC forum in LA this Saturday and was wondering if anyone has advice. I wasn't planning to go, but now I'm retaking the LSAT in November so I'll be applying later than expected. I have no idea what to expect - has anyone been to one? Does talking to the reps from schools actually make a difference? Should I bring copies of my resume? Any tips appreciated, and if you're in LA let me know if you're coming too!
