Weight of score among sections

Hi guys,

Do you have any idea how the sections affect the overall score? I just took a PT and got a 160, while completely bombing the Logic Games (like I only got 6 correct in the entire section -__-). I'm obviously drilling them and I normally don't do that badly, but I was just wondering what score you think I might expect if I were to do better in that section.

Thanks!!

lol-ing on the LSAT

does anybody fear that they might LOL during the actual test? Imagine intense concentration on test day, suddenly disturbed by an absurd answer choice

I think it's okay...I'm in the same boat as you, same test date and everything. I find I learn more effectively if I DO take breaks, like maybe a day here or there. Study effectively when you DO study, and break effectively as well.

I would just play it safe and bring a pencil that you know for sure is okay.

They say that only erasers without sleeves, and not mechanical erasers, are allowed.

Random PT score

Hi guys,

Sorry for the endless score-related posts I've been doing!

I have been doing a couple PTs a week lately, and I've seen a very gradual increase to about a 162 average. The other day I got a 167, but the next PT I took was back down to 160. The 167 was when I had the entire day dedicated to the test, and the 160 was after a long day at work. Do you think this is enough to account for the score discrepancy, or was the 167 more likely a fluke?

What is the author's main point?

I think it's not necessarily that they recommend complete abstinence from studying, but rather that you don't cram the day before. I feel like it would be good to have it fresh in your mind and do some light review the day before/morning of (at least that's what I'm planning on), but to avoid so much studying that you're burnt out for the actual test. I'm also trying to avoid taking a PT super close to test day and risking a bad score due to nerves, which would then make me even more concerned about the actual test and probably do even worse on the real thing.

If you look in the syllabus you can see all of the problem sets that will be in the sections you plan on doing for the next few days, so what I normally do is open all of those in new tabs and download the pdfs, then print them all out at the same time. It's not the most streamlined thing in the world but I find it easier than printing them out as I get to them.

I hope that helps!
