August Atlanta Study group

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to review RC and LR starting from the old PTs and make sure I review 1-2 PTs every day. I am in the Decatur area (near Emory) and would love to find a study group with people in the area that can occasionally meet in person. If anyone is interested please let me know!

September Test-Score hold

Hi,

I have a quick question about an issue I encountered. I took the September test with no issues online with an approved writing but received an email about a score hold 2 days before release date. I emailed them asking why and they sent me an email with a generic answer and survey asking whether I used a VPN, took the test at home, and what materials I used to study for the LSAT. They aren't telling me anything else so I was wondrring if the unplugged team has seen these situations and what I should expect. I don't recall any possible issues with my test session so I am hoping this is first time taker high score hold. Are there more incidents or a high score hold or simple miscellaneous security issues from such a score hold?

Any information about score holds would be appreciated.

Thanks!

#help

Isn't A also wrong because the stim already says "nothing else could prompt people to make sacrifices"? So it can't be anything else besides the attribution of rights and responsibilities to nations.

Study group for September Test (LR)

Hey ya'll I would love to form a study group of about 3-4 people to review LR. I have been PTing in the high 160s to low 170s for a while now, but I really struggled with PT 85 LR and one of the LR sections on the August test. I generally get about -3/-4 on a LR section. I do not want to burn more PTs as of now so I would love a study group to review older exams and walk through our individual approach. Let me know if interested!

#help Isn't D also wrong cuz it is kinda irrelevant? The stim is trying to figure out what the cause of this current spike in Venus is so mentioning sulfur dioxide from volcanoes years after the eruption doesn't do anything. There is an actual spike right now but the thing that can be attacked is the "Identified" part. Maybe the identifying of volcanoes sucks. But saying sulfur dioxide from volcanoes is detectable later doesn't make it any less likely that the current spike isn't caused by volcanoes. Sure maybe sulfur dioxide spikes caused by volcanoes may be detectable later but sulfur dioxide spikes/traces in the future is irrelevant because that is not what the stim is trying to explain but the current spike's cause is the key here.

It is tempting cuz it seems to hint that we just don't think it is volcanoes now cuz the sulfur dioxide spike in volcanoes is detectable later so we don't see it now but there is spike right now. The identified part is for volcanoes not for the spike itself so saying that there may be an additional spike detected from volcano doesn't explain this at all.

Study group for August

Hi I'm looking for a couple of people to review RC and LR with. I have solved over 50 PTs but decided to cancel June last minute to really hone in on RC and get LR to a consistent -1/2. I'm going to be starting from PT 1 and resolving and reviewing at least 1-2 RC sections over 2-3 days. I plan to really intensively go over RC so if anyone is interested in consistently doing this to (for review/accountability), please message me!

June or postpone to august

Hi I need some advice. I’ve been studying the lsat almost full time since January of this year. I’m shooting for a 170 plus but ever since I’ve been more strict on time for Rc and lr, I sometimes ended up getting -10on rc sometimes. Normally i would average around -4/5 but the trickier qs and denser passages in more recent pts rlly have been hurting me. For lr also, i would avg -2/3 but on some of the ones i. The 70-80 range i got -4/5 per section. My LG is normally perfect but because of my fluctuating rc score I score sometimes in the low 60 and occasionally in the low 70s(mostly high 60s). Im debating whether I should try taking it this week officially for the first time or if I should spend more time with rc and get more consistent and better at lr and shoot for august or September…Some say take it for the experience but based on my rc level I think the best I could do is maybe a 168-170? Best case scenario? Should I give it a shot or postpone it and take it when I consistently pt in the 170 range?

Thanks!

I think these comparative conclusion w/st questions are starting to click...Just like pt 85's question that something is more reliable than another, saying A > B is a very big statement to make and is almost impossible to support in a short LR stim. It will always get at an additional factor or concept that might also indicate that A is actually not better than B. Recurring type of question answer especially in some of the challenging 80s LR Qs

#help Isn't D also wrong cuz it is not about increasing their salary? The never change is strong, yes, cuz they could even increase it. But the law protects from them earning more than 50 times what lowest paid employees earn but that doesn't mean no increase in salary. I thought this was a ratio/percentage to actual number difference and eliminated D. Would this be correct?
