I have always been the type of person to change answers based on a repeating pattern because "there's no way they would put 4 C's in a row, right?!?!", so I just wanted to share a portion of the answer key to of one of my practice exams that I wrote (PT 19, Section 4 LR)

15.C

16.C

17.B

18.C

19.C

20.C

21C

There you have it 6/7 answers were C. Let this be a reminder to see through the mind tricks they throw at you!

How relevant are old PT's 19-38?

When I began studying for the LSAT I purchased two official LSAT "packs" that included LSAT's from June 1996 (when I was born) until October 2002 because they were cheaper than buying the more recent ones individually. I know that some of the old tests featured more frequent questions types that are perhaps less common, but what else? When I watched video explanations for some of the games JY would begin to talk about the format of the game and say something along the lines of "well this was a game from 97" as if its been phased out.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Am I studying too much?

Some may laugh and think "practice makes perfect", but I feel this exam has the tendency to catch up to people who have submerged themselves into the exam and get to their heads like a nasty Criss Angel. I started studying at the beginning of May, working through the program during my summer. August 1st hit and I had only written 1 PT (at the beginning of the summer). I postponed till December because I didn't want to rush, and I had a goal of writing at least 10-15 exams before Sept24. Not being ready scared the shit out of me and I vowed to not let that feeling come back in November, so come Sept.1 I sat down with 30+ purchased exams with the goal of completing them all before December. I'm already a student at McGill university, but I've planned it out to write 2-3 (hopefully 3) exams a week. Obviously it sucks not being able to go out and get shitfaced with my friends on a Tuesday, but this exam is my top priority! So i ask: is doing 3 exams a week until Dec a bad idea if I can stay on top of all my other school work? .

Reading comp AGH

I'm scheduled to write the Feb exam and I've noticed that my RC is my worst section by far! I'm averaging - (3-5) per LR section, and -(0-2) per LG section... but getting around 15-17 (out of 27) on RC... I find that I focus too much on the content rather than structure. I most always correctly answer MP questions but find myself lost on questions that reference specific lines and ask for such things as the tone. Recently I've tried to focus less on content, but then I am complete loss when it comes to questions that ask for analogous situations/opinions/beliefs (because I either don't know the authors motives or I spend too much time trying to re-read). I've done loads of passages to know that my skills deteriorate with complexity (obviously like everyone else) but rather than by theme (science, econ, law, etc)... with the exception of history passages, which I would rather just guess :p

Any tips or recommendations for specific skills to help keep on track of what's happening in the passage, without trying to retain information overload?

THANK YOU!!
