Sorry to hear that. I'd recommend waiting until your consistently PTing within a few points of your target score. I'd recommend probably waiting until October, unless you can get in your target range by August.

Admissions committees vary in how they view multiple takes. If you take it 3-4 times, but you're in your school's median, I'd say that is okay. Over 5 may start raising some questions by the admissions committee.

Best of luck to you for when you get to your target range!

Thank you! I think I'll be taking the october one. Do you know if it costs anything to switch?

Thank you for this advice! How did you manage to get to all four passages of the reading comp section? I am also a slow reader and I completely bombed the July test. My goal is anything in the 160s.

LSAT Flex - is there a curve?

I am concerned that I can get fewer questions wrong to get the score I want with the flex as opposed to the original LSAT. Does anyone know how LSAC has explained this? Thanks!

Does anyone want to be my study buddy? I've taken the LSAT twice and haven't seen an improvement. I'm not sure where I am going wrong :( Let me know and we can exchange numbers or something!

@ You can take the LSAT writing on the same page on LSAC where you check your scores. There are no live proctors during the writing part. They video record the entire session instead and there are instructions that ask you to show your surroundings to the camera much like the FLEX exam.

Oh okay! On the lawhub website?

Did it sound like they were leaning towards to Flex?

No, LSAC rep did not provide info if July exam will also be Flex format. But, I do know that the university that is/was supposed to be my test site for the July exam is holding all of its summer courses online and all on-site events have been cancelled as well, so I suspect that they will not be allowing groups of any kind in their buildings for the next few months at least.

I see, thank you!

I spoke with LSAC rep today and they said they will make a decision about July LSAT by May 28th

Did it sound like they were leaning towards to Flex?

I took the test on July 11th. I was connected to a proctor right away and had no problems with that whatsoever, which I was nervous about. I also had the LR - RC - LG sequence. I personally found RC particularly more challenging than any RC section I've practiced with. The LR was also pretty difficult, but I usually don't have time to finish LR sections since I am a really slow reader. LG was pretty easy compared to the other sections. I've signed up for August because I feel like I scored in the 140s thats how much I guessed :( Does anyone else feel discouraged ? I want to cancel my score but at this point I think that would hurt more than help. I also don't know where to do my LSAT writing? Does anyone know how it works and how they proctor you? Thank you!

Focus on conclusion and find an answer choice that will weaken it, by stating that it is not the case that X is Y. Not attacking the conclusion itself but attacking the support. Like introducing something new or emphasizing some point that will make the conclusion not as sound as it does. Hope this helps.

Thank you! My main problem is that I fall into the trap answers that sound like a good alternate cause but turns out to be a Shell game type of answer choice.

Many of the arguments we see have flaws. It's good to put as much as possible in your own words. You may find the Thinking LSAT podcast helpful. They have some episodes on this question type, I think.

Thank you!! Will check that out.

I'm a slow reader and it's very frustrating because when I take practice sections on LR and RC, I only get to about 70% of the questions while the rest I guess on. If I don't time myself, I get most of the questions right and I obviously am able to get to all of them. What do I do? SOS.

Accept that probably nothing you do in the next week is gonna make a massive difference at this point, so just focus on tightening things up. Maybe a take a day or two off as well so that you're not going into the test totally burnt out. I'm taking it on Tuesday and am spending the next week just tightening LG and testing out some gimmicky approaches to sections, like starting with #20 in LR or jumping around in LG, to see if they make any difference in my performance.

I have the luxury of living half a mile from my dream law school, so when I'm feeling super bummed out and/or not motivated, I'll go for a drive around the campus and listen to music to remind myself why I'm doing this. Maybe you should try just going for a drive and listening to music to unwind and think about what it is that you're doing.

This test is a LOT. There's nothing wrong with feeling unconfident, unmotivated, sad, anxious, etc. It's actually way less normal if you're not feeling that way.

Best of luck to you on the test, my friend!

Thank you so much .. this helped a TON. Sometimes words of encouragement and knowing you aren't alone is all we need to keep us moving.

Dont give up. Before my first flex everyday felt like a nightmare of stress lol. But ended up getting the score I wanted so, way less stress for this next take coming up!

Trust me, stress impacts performance. Try your best to relax, exercise, meditate, etc. Do the MOST you can to do whatever puts you in the right mindset. For me, its exercise and eating right.

Thank you:)))

Take some time to do something you enjoy! Remind yourself that the exam, and the score you get, are not the end all be all of your life. I'm taking the exam next Sunday and I'm also pretty scared, but know that we will get through this.

Thank you!! We are in this together and that helps a lot to know.

Confirm action
