Thank you, VanishingTA! The way you explained it in terms of conditionality helped me see that the argument reverses the necessary and sufficient.

I'm not getting this one.

if the only motives that influence all human actions arise from self interest, then why wouldn't self interest be the chief influence? It seems like self interest should be the main influence because all motives influencing human action arise from self interest.

I understood this one because Q, erroneously affirmed the necessary, but going forward do we take the word assures to be sufficient?

I understood the lawgic of both arguments but don’t exactly understand how the lawgic of AC (D) relates to the arguments. I broke down the stimulus and every AC but still had trouble with this one. Can anyone break down AC (D) as it relates to the arguments? Thanks ahead of time.

I agree...

1. The accuracy of a given set of reports are in question.

2. An independent group is given the identical set of reports to determine accuracy.

Provided there was no dishonesty by the group that generated the first report, the flaw is that there is a possibility that this independent entity may arrive at the same conclusion, therefore additional information might be needed to verify if the reports are indeed accurate.

I understand why D) is correct but chose B) because it seemed like Lee did offer an alternative explanation for the change in attitude-- awareness of life expectancy.

I got this one wrong and had a hard understanding this and piecing the elements together in my mind. I did not make the inference that should have led me to the correct answer about the water level being lower in the past in order for the stalagmites to form. Also, I didn’t make the association that the water level had to be low enough for the water drops to hit the floor.

Any suggestions on how to think about questions like this going forward?

Thank you for your feedback. Perhaps I’ll go back and BR it after working my way through some of the CC.

Blind Review prior to learning fundamentals

Hi. This question refers to BR-ing the cold diagnostic.

Joined 7Sage this week and used the June 2007 Prep Test as the diagnostic. I've done just a few lessons from the Core Curriculum so was wondering how do I correctly reason my way through the questions during BR?

Without having learned an approach for the various question types and not having been exposed to 7Sage's methodologies for analyzing correct and incorrect answers, wouldn't BR-ing a diagnostic before the learning process begins, be kind of like "shooting in the dark"?

Suggestions welcome! Thanks in advance
