This is an excellent notion.

Aids in seeing the lsat as an exercise in Logic. (LSAC Logic at least).

Being able to see which is definitely right and which 4 AC's are definitely incorrect, 40% of the time, then 80%, then 90, and so forth, helps shore up gaps in intuition.

I think schoolwork or even training for new jobs, is always "more fun", when it's seen as a game. Or even the profession for some. (Many professions really, to an extent). Just like fitness, or leanness, or health/illness, any battles I've fought.

11/12 academic petitions successfully challenged against (a huge) Canadian university. That was a game, resolving medical illness caused by the medical system - that was a game...

Stocks, crypto, etc is a game. Why wouldn't the Lsat be?

Not to say it's an easy game*.

suffering exists mostly in imagn. seneca. perception. your mind is lens of camera. you get what you focus on. if we fcs on our probs we get more of them, if we fcs on good.

jocko, peterson, arnold schwarz, chipsa motivn. daily stoic. powerful people. -- youtube.

all you ctrl is thoughts and axns. ideas and actions. that and a journal, is how i organize.

i am good even v good for lr and rc, but... not for lg. panic attacks. mostly ive lost most fears.

fears hold us back. what will parents say? friends think? what will she say? who cares.

life is too short. we need to be aware of our own mortality. momento mori. amor fati as well.

ceize every moment.

working on 3-5 books. trading. lsat. nearly dead a few yrs ago.

motivation above.

also*: forgot to say, your purpose in life changes - yr to yr, like oh undergrad, masters, law, whatever... then articling. it's all j a game. be red and blue pilled but never caged. they're just matrices/boxes, like religions/theories/philosophies (I realize these aren't terms with equiv. defns).

meaningful work and study, utilizing your time space circumstances to best of your abilities and accepting failures and wins both with indifference is the way to approach tests and life at large. i like it. anyways good luck. hopefully makes sence. good day. we all leave life one day, ensure that your integrity and values/ virtues are intact, like justice, wisdom, courage, temperance/moderation (The Meditations - Marcus Aurelius).

Panic and hysteria is everywhere, but being rational, one doesn't need to partake in it. I understand anxiety and the feat of running late/ behind in life. ADHD, and illness, various reasons why, but these things tho very painful and very overwhelming mostly made me stronger. No one leaves life completely unscarred, the damage is there but fades away. Everyday, realize the clock is ticking, and we sacrifice/ lose either way. Choose your sacrifice, make sure you own it, stay humble, take ownership of your world and everything in it, one day parents/ other successes are seen as peers, thereby you can be sure, you're functioning fine. some have 20 mn dollars at 20, some have zero at 40, it doesn't matter, as long as you do the right thing. And also, stay in the present, with relentless optimism that you have control over your choices, not over the outcomes, situations, but over what you input.

There's a dichotomy of control (Epictitus). Only work on what you can control. Ignore the rest. When lost in schoolwork/studying for the lsat, reach out.

Motivation is just a feeling. IT is fleeting. YOU need discipline.

Logic when emotions tell you you can't do this anymore. Emotions when logically you know you should give up. Take this approach to everything in life, discipline = freedom (Jocko, navy seal commander).

-note lots of stoic people referenced above, also some others, but many of these lessons are really thousands of years old.

-Life moves in circles, pattern recognition matters a lot.

The worst most severe challenges in life... well motivation isn't enough. It won't be there. you can't count on it. you can at times. YOU won't be able to rely on it in life's most challenging times. For instance, an example could be through severe depression, panic attacks, or illness, or lost of a loved one... etc. Aim for MASTERY. Of sections/whole tests, and more importantly, your way of thinking... your way of being. Aim for self-mastery.

-1/100 1/40 who knows / 100k screwed by a syndrome. Who recovd or nearly did. again but less severe and quite different, earlier on. (medications screwed me).

-lost 100lb at 16. 40% bf to like 7now. -- near death exps.

-death threats internationally etc.

-several if not way more tradgedies.

-i simply do not care. neither should you. it's just a fing test.

absolutely. same with so many games in life... if masters in one area, and you want a phd, think like the phd's. if bad with social interaction, get the skills and become great, like the greats. put the hard work in. "fake it to make it", for some, but from a position of authenticity. no matter what always invest in reality. self-investment and time are the most important assets, more so than money even. a man who wastes an hour or a day, may as well waste his life, for he doesn't understand the true value of life. inefficiency in all places must be ruthlessly culled.

(coming from someone with high potential and often did well, other times totally was a mess - related to ADHD and various other things as well as misdiagnosis, near death experiences, addictions, bad habits). I'm waking up 2-3am, reading 2000 pages in a few days, doing 600 questions at times. At least for LR and RC. The reading is not really related to the LSAT, but some of it is, but it still helps RC. One day soon, hopefully I can do a lot of LG. It just seems that I'm better at the other sections, and could improve once I saw a few ways how to do things and then, sharpened my intuition. I can get more games right now, without drawing... but that is dicey as I'm not "that good" at that section yet. It will come.

I have much of what I want in life, but say there's like 20 excellent habits I have, one bad habit 20x a year is better than 2000x a year, but it is still imperfect. Despite no gyms for obvious reasons related to the pandemic, I still do 1000 + pushups, bodyweight squats, crunches a day. I was working out 2x a day before 7am. This is probably too much, but I'm quite lean and athletic. Not because "I'm so great", I was obese at 15, and a runner at 16. Faked it to make it there, until I kind of disliked myself, if I didn't play sports, hit the gym etc. There's way better exercises than running, but I digress.

I actually think for once I have learned to keep a schedule, and become super efficient, even without only last minute pressure. Since a year and a half ago, maybe 2 years ago, I've been using a bullet journal. That is offline, I also have a voice recorder/ dictaphone... keeping it offline. I rarely venture online outside of work and study that necessitates it. All my devices are in greyscale, seriously helps make internet time more efficient, and enables me to get like 20 hours of work done in 8-10hrs. Not everyday of course. I did kind of mess up when I looked into the news, and then tripped out for a while... also it was my bday, and I'm isolated, which is fine, meanwhile all these fat overfed drunk heffers are partying it up in Florida. Bunch of dbags.

You can learn from friends, enemies and peers, and even randoms, in all aspects of the game of life. Adapt and improvise and overcome, strictly adhering to the moral code that you instill habitually. This includes studying, while in law school, or undergrad, or working in a company, or your own company. I still hate planning and it is alien to me, but if I get 80-95% of what I want done, usually on time, and ahead of time, at times... that's way way better than a couple unis and high schools I went to. It can be better, but you gotta relax too here and there.

Flexible scheduling, written, voice, and the Ivy Lee Task method all helped me a lot.

Also reading some books in audio format, 3-4x normal speed and then reading the books that I actually like reading on screen or in book format, helped too.

Sidenote: I kind of hate LG. But, I hated many problem solving courses and somehow did them... and unlike those, this* actually has a TON of practice tests. So much like LR,RC, I've gotta take time to get the fundamentals and then keep shoring up my skills. I'm sure it will get better.

It's easier to think of yourself as an attorney (and whatever you choose to do in this life, with your limited time), when it's a priority and done for self-investment, i.e. the right reasons. Reasons only you can decide.

Hey there. So it's normal that the LSAC still says April 25th for people that didn't submit a test date change form a week or so ago and also last night before midnight 4.18, or rather 11.59pm E.S.T. 4.17.2020, correct?

The test date will change, or should I write the LSAC?

Edit: Probably won't change till Apr. 22 when sign up starts.

I haven't logged in in a while on LSAC.org, I just thought it would say something else. Sorry I'm just freaking out a bit.

Also do you need CAS if you apply to any american school? Do you need it for CDN schools?

Those Godless Pangolins Strike Again!!!

More on topic: I thought about remote testing or maybe changing test centres to smaller groups, maybe that's possible maybe not. It seems quite possible where I'm at in Canada... with not that many people and a MASSIVE land mass, but if universities are closed and refuse access, that seems to go above LSAC's jurisdiction, I'm guessing. And also, there needs to be cooperation on LSAC and testing centre's parts. Also maybe it will be difficult finding people to proctor.

I'm sure in the end it will all work out fine. I hope no one panics too much. I've been there. I kind of am now, but I'm sure it will all be fine. Anyways take care.

god i hope not. what about smaller test centres? testing only for those that can prove no corona virus? I may get accomodations, may not occur, as I am reg'd for the April lsat. I understand if closed... but want to get test over with while relatively young, and am actually doing quite well on lr, lr, rc as per lately. studied several months last year or at least 2.5-maybe 3. and 14d lately. going to study the next 40d as I planned. Hopefully not delayed forever.

Maybe peak of the illness will be June to August. Maybe 9mo to a year. Who knows. I'm trying not to freak out. Anyways everyone stay safe out there. Keep your distance. And Good Luck.

I didn't do a cold diagnostic. But i did later. And it went well. HOWEVER, while in the last 14d (83.3% of core done in that time, will do again later for memory), LR and RC went up very well.

And will continue to with other tools that I am using. (maybe drills later, but I'd like to finish up the core, and prep tests I have available in Ultimate and purchased ones elsewhere (so 45)).

LG one half is very hard, one half doable but can improve.

it's just that LG has improved a lot in terms of understanding. But surely can bring score down a lot... maybe 163-170. BUT say, I get 2-3 brutal games in a row... then... I'll be very very screwed. that's not the right word. I think that reading comp will be good at times, but will definitely keep reading some Kafka, Dostoyvesky, The Economist, etc.

LG, on the other hand..

I just know with me, some crash tutoring can be very useful.

Sticking to 1-2 ways of solving questions is probably the best.

I have ADHD, and for sure this made mathematical/working memory classes way harder than they should have been.

--Once done the course, and a bit of a different course in my strongest section (LR).

-and then shoring up a decent section (RC). I will focus on games and preptests, more casually.

--after work and my own work (basically trading/writing).

I like it.

Was gonna post an ebay.

Yes, it was costly in Canada (although tuition is far more and more in states, minus scholarships, which cdns don't always get for reputable schools. may be wrong, but family admissions into john hopkins, harvard, etc for med, mba's), lead me to believe. I know several who got into lower tier law schools with scholarships, but those are not ideal to me.

I personally wait till last minute to find my last 20 course gpa, course costs, etc. Not best strategy, but I focus on the task at hand. I wanted an ebook too bc I can if in rush read on screen in a couple or few days. Large books on paper or hardcover are harder to read. It's a good book tho.

--yeah... you cannot do most that stuff... write during the exam or open youtube.

--semi drunk when i wrote this. 9000 dollar day. my bad.

---good question. maybe a quick transcendental guided meditation or a progressive tension relaxation technique, is a good way, to reset.

--I had (and or have) horrible anxiety esp when I was younger, and I mean I practiced those for years. --I kind of reverse engineer everything to fit ADHD/anxiety.

--If I practice meditations for a few mo, I can do them in my head. with work and the like, I'd probably need a video or a mp3 at times.

-- or if I really had everything together, maybe I'd journal it quickly, and come back after scoring it. --like, "I faltered on this question.... it was a or e, it cannot be ...", then after scoring it, see where my mistakes were and my rationale was wrong. take care, good luck!

-- @, I wish I could relax like you... I never ate like pre any exam from like hs to bio sci to econ... to my prev lsat attempt. I'm always fasted. I've had friends like that tho.

--I may need to have a snack that day, some liquid sugar at least with a coffee.

-although it is a long ish exam... eating may be in order. I'll definitely exercise.

--last year it was kind of messed up... all these rules ... can't see half my family, this stupid pandemic., they're all docs. it'll be better writing it this time. --and i think that i'll do better ... considering some excellent work exp (financial rtns)/ defi/ trading etc. --now i can write it like who cares but still, i'll treat it seriously.

Learned from a lot (recently. after much self improvement, I realized I had to improve even more).

Various philosophies help me. Stoicism. Knowing the why, or the reason overcomes the 'how'. Discipline... and knowing you wake up for a reason even on a bad day, and you can see many others doing so, lets you get through, any way you can. Good luck.

Ensure you know that many excuses if not most are lies. The truth shall set you free, go out there and get it done no matter what. Even if that isn't the law. AND also, even if you try and it doesn't work. Guess what?

You have more knowledge and skills to apply to other disciplines, that may fit you better in the end than the law. It's not a failure nor a dissapointment. I will finish certain career things late, certain things I learned earlier, but this is part of life.

So can we guess if the LR will be normal difficulty and the RC and the LG? Will one be super hard?

If taken at home, can I drink water?? I require Mark Zuckerberg levels of hydration.

--water's a bad idea anyways right?

--I fast and eat at least every 22hrs if not way more (which is pushing it nowadays).

-Make sure I drink water pre and post exam?

If water is needed,

Should I make sure the administrator can't see me through my camera? I'll probably hide it.

Can I talk to myself? I write LR and RC faster and more accurately talking to myself.

Actually always talked to myself while studying or doing anything solo that requires concentration. --which is why I wanted accomodations (but didn't finish getting a letter, I ran out of time... and then there was the whole pandemic thing). See I wanted accomodations for writing alone... obviously alone as per the current state of affairs in much of the world.

If it just looks wierd, I'll act normal. I can blend into my environment for a few hours.

i mean perfect student brother (99 mcat etc) would say all of them timed. but i just can't. and it's a w of time. less is more. mastery ideal, but I just want consistently good scores on all sections, and balancing that with other jobs/roles, is kind of difficult.

It's like write 6d, study 20d, trading 18d. ridiculous. challenging.

LG is tough for me, all can go up and down with no practice. Consistency is key. I want higher than 83-84th percentile, have some lofty goals, but 169-171 or so is fine. No longer applying to america, only canada. all good schools if reputable, and basically they all are here unless I'm mistaken.

Not sure if you guys are shorting various currencies rite now.

Put it this way, after delaying practice test scores, til I understood the test better (minus LG, I just need to practice more. Last ten or so days, largely consisted of time wasteage but not really. Studying wise, sure). I attempted a couple tests and didn't attempt LG (waiting till I can consistently do them). This may be poor practice, but whatever I had to kind of "reverse engineer" how to do this test, like I did in many things in life especially academic pursuits. I was getting 149-150 without attempting LG.

Say I know 0/20 or so for LG (maybe 23 pts). LG now worth 33% versus 25% and LR worth 33% rather than 50% actually greatly penalizes me. This is likely bad luck posting this. I don't really care. The test could be really easy for some, really hard for others. Obviously I'll continue studying all sections and entire tests. Nothing's that easy, keep in mind there's grade deflation in Canada (at real schools in real majors, and massive inflation in the States (not at every school). Life's not fair. Not to sound harsh, I'm just saying I'm used to it. This nonsense situation won't defeat me. Covid-19, lockdown, whatever. I've done worse. Stay strong, work hard everyday.

Weights may not be as described above. I'm just estimating as per what I read from LSAC.

If not for this test, I'd probably not use my computer 20 days if I could. Rewiring some stuff neurologically. Obviously contacting people, studying, getting work done requires it at times. But I severely limit it. Some random hard LG sections, very tough RC, and random LR questions can be had in any number of tests, I think. Also there's randomness, test day, this and that... one can write a test and get 90-99 and another day get 60 (like the first time they take it and don't study enough, or if they're inconsistent).

Note 1: Various Assumptions here.

Note 2: Ignoring entire sections is very high risk and not for test day. Likely not a good way to practice either. I just put off diagnostic for a time, till ready-ish.

--i hope you get in. me too, im rewriting but may have a firm in part of CDA

--or setup smthing else in another part. quite busy.

--i know iranian, indian, etc ppl here in canada that had scholarships and like they were removed or useless. canada fundings kind of odd. same in my ugrad biological sci (tho switched to economics).

--have a cousin that got into jon hopkins med he went to UofT instead.

-my brother got 99th perc mcat (he's GREAT at tests, etc).

--i uh will not get 99 on the lsat. anyways we all have dif skills/talents.

--the thing is... taking debt is fine if it advances careers and you can pay it off, and taking major paycut for an MBA or JD or Doctorate, Masters, etc is worth it if you stategize, on work exp and end game, and altv. ways to earn.

Maybe zoom out . Practice reading fast less vocalization, most words per line, comfy width.

Also zoom in higher detail, and less rereading. Timed. And also, sum up in writing, then less words, then mentally. And know all sections can be improved. Pot'ly some books in addn to 7sage. Also reading a lot of books you're interested in but also harder challenging material with depth... and coming back to lsat rc sections. It is annoying. But seems similar difficulty as lr, sometimes harder, sometimes easier. BORING-factor, it seems harder. Both seem easier to me than RC tho. Still a hard test, doable tho.

Also -

only eat after getting 20-30qs rite straight, and at nite. EATING is for closers @. If you eat satisified, trained, studied, and work done. It's way better.

SIMONSAPIEN.. just want to say, excellent LSAT. ANd you can succeed in many areas....

I wonder if maybe you have ADHD. Lots of our story is similar, though I relate to so many people (Pisces-Ariest Cusp lol). Anyways, I did well when I could write tests alone. Took til 30 plus to realize not only do I have ADHD, I have hEDS (Ehlers Danlos, probably the most common type, but classifications will change).

Anyways, I wrote the LSAT in the pandemic, studied hard in 2019, but yeah I had no ADHD doc, nor accomodations. Now I will. I will try. When I study hard, I do really well on LR and RC, LG I will definitely... work on that.

Anyways, I have backup options and already am earning in some self employment.

I wonder if you had untreated ADHD in your first uni attampts. And then the sales jobs after... having to leave at times. Just a thought. And yeah you wrote this a long time ago. So you probably won't read this, but if I can help someone in a similar circumstance, I had to at least try. Hope you're doing well now mate.

@ yes good advice mate. i felt really bad losing some time here and there but like my brother says (surgeon) and friend (grad queens law and bar passed, canada), do when confident. a couple mo here and there, who cares, just like doing law 28 or 30 or 25, who cares, as long as working on other skills. And utilizing time well. Rather be safe than sorry and be confident.

Where is the correct current lsat flex date list? the website? I will look. At work rite now.

Thanks. (I did do ok, and cancelled some flex test). Really need to maintain LR and keep it great and better and RC too (fatigue sets in. both were decent to hi pre studying (a lot), sometimes quite hi). LG? yeah... well I'm trying to make a 1000 here and there, to take that to the nxt level quickly. Practice is key, timed situations. I am writing some books, and also trading sometimes a lot., but doing it safely. Did do 2300 cad to 14000 usd in 21-24d, recently, after breaking like 12mo and 18-19mo from trading. LSAT not quite that long but 3-4mo breaks bc of work, scores went up. (did not keep all that, better money mgmt/ risk mgmt is in order, learned can make it consistently. also holding is key... for btc, eth, forex. well not so much forex). Forget alt coins.

Also many laws against this. senate stuff going on. political regime changes, taking effect.

Idiocy all around. Like SEC longing XRP then causing fear around it (not a good product but still an assault on cryptocurrency at large, unwarranted). Doing stocks, funds too. Trade like smart money, not dumb money.

However, I think a lot of that has to do with mindfulness, stoicism, and reading lots.

Hard to explain. Cheers. Good luck everyone. I hope you do really well this year and keep achieving your goals. Happy New Years all 7sagers and current/prospective law students.

I'm definitely not typical....

but I think I am not a huge fan of extra time. It all depends.

Looking back at 5th yr econ and like my last lsat... Definitely, I'm way way better off

--ON NOTHING, on the day of the test, especially for LR and RC (which I'm better at).

Huberman, Stanford... and others have good supplemental recommendations. Obviously, I am not giving medical advice, I'm just saying various supplements helped me in work (all entrepreneurial) and in studying. Though, I've neglected the latter quite a lot recently. Still though, I hyperfocus too much on stims. Some other stuff helps me. Cannabis.

I have a dual disorder. I know everyone's against cannabis, but I have like 20 years of insomnia (not straight). I was really sick (not covid, had that too a few yrs later). Anyways, overcoming difficulty helps a lot. A digital task list and a written one. The latter I have slacked on a bit. I meditate, workout, then work/study. It is easier to keep this up, with a written plan. It is pretty hard with all the digital apps. Also blocking sites. Turning off the net even... a bit. Keeping screens out of my bedroom. For instance I was awake 2.25 days (not the best I know), However, as soon as I unplugged my computer I was able to fall asleep. Theanine, Valerian root... may be helpful. I also take a tiny amount of supplemental Li. I vary these and various other workout things but also go a couple yrs without any. They are all powerful. Watch what Huberman has to say about ADHD on youtube perhaps.

I am not sure if it hurts the score. Try to gameify the studying experience as much as you can.

Confirm action

Are you sure?
