I'm in a similar situation. I try to dedicate one full day a week to only him (usually Sundays). On the weekdays, he understands that I have a schedule to keep up with and he knows not to expect too much attention. It helps if your partner is also studying for grad school/ entrance exam, or just has a significant goal that he/she is preparing for. That way they can focus the extra free time they now have (as a result of your intense study habits) on accomplishing their goal. Also, it feels great to know you're both working towards achievement. Don't allow your partner to be an excuse to not study for the exam, he/she should be the #1 motivating factor in your study routine. It's hard not to feel like this is a selfish endeavor but at the end of the day, Law School is an investment in yourself, which is an investment in your relationship! I hope this helps.
This question taught me that I need to read more carefully. Although there is no clear cut conclusion indicator in this passage, "As plausible as this may sound, at least..." is still a conclusion indicator. The beginning of the sentence is set up to create contrast from what was just said. The author creates contrast by stating "...at least, one thing remains mysterious" That's like saying, I believe you.. your theory is alright buttttt there is still this one thing that remains mysterious in spite of this theory and i'm going to tell you by way of my argument.
Not sure if that makes sense.. I'm trying to type out my understanding after watching the explanation...
Hi, I would like to partner up... Where in NYC are you located? I'm also finishing the curriculum by mid June so I think we'll be on the same page.
August 3rd works! I like how you suggested a deadline so that we can all start PT/ BR together :)
@ I also won't start PT for about another 3-4 weeks. Do you guys plan on going through the entire curriculum before starting to PT? I want too in order to make sure my fundamentals are strong, but it seems like a lot of the value in the course is in drilling and PT's. I feel like it's going to take forever to see an actual PT! LOL
I'm also trying to average 20 hrs per week, but w/ a full time job.. it hasn't been easy. my progress is on par w/ that of a snail. it's depressing at times but i'm trying to stay strong and see this through until the bitter end!
I just got The Trainer in the mail yesterday... Wooo!
i started preparing about 3 weeks ago... but i feel like it's taking me forever to get through the curriculum! i'm trying to take my time and really make sure i understand the concepts before i move on. how're you doing? where are you up to in the curriculum? @
haha "i feel like kanye west when he looks in the mirror" Congrats!!
Everyone has mentioned really useful tips.. BUT..
Does anyone else feel like one of the hardest things about working f/t (sitting for 8 hours a day) and then LSAT prep after work... is the extra time sitting in a chair?! My lower back/ hip area and shoulders haaaaate me! It's so uncomfortable. But then, studying in bed or on the couch isn't very conducive for effective study habits. I'm seriously about to purchase one of those over-sized extra comfortable office chairs.
i know this is minimal in terms of what is truly difficult about working f/t and still dedicating 20hrs avg./week to LSAT prep.. but i had to share that with someone.
