For 11, I was down to D and C and ultimately went with D because in the first paragraph it said "Taruskin writes... one of the defining characteristics of "high art" is that "it is produced BY and for political and social elites." So wouldn't that mean Taruskin is committing himself to the position that the artists that produced the art were elites themselves which includes the aristocracy and middle classes?
