160 score plateau - Need advice on how to proceed

Hi,

I was hoping to ask for advice from those of you who have experienced and have got passed a160 plateau.

I started studying for the LSAT in May and my initial diagnostic score was a 145. My last five recent PTs are 159, 159,162,160, and 160 and my blind review score average is around 170. After I do the blind review I get almost all LR right, maybe except one or two questions, and same goes for LG. But I still get around 5-6 wrong on RC. My goal is to get a 165 and I am writing the test in September.

My average incorrect answers in each section is as below:

LG: -4

LR: -5 each

RC: -8 (I am an ESL student so at best I have to spend 3:30 min on each passage)

Right now I am doing three PTs a week and I do BR after each plus I am still fool proofing more rare/mapping/pattern games.

Since I got almost the same score in my last 5 PTs I have started questioning the effectiveness of doing only PTs followed by BR. What I am not sure about is whether doing PTs is going to increase my score or should I still do more drills and work on my techniques.

Thank you :)

I started with a 145 diagnostic and after 3 months of studying my average PT score is 162.

I have fool proofed all games from PT 1-35, except for the weird ones which I am going to start soon, and I believe that was the reason I went form -15 on LG to -3 on average. I wish I had came across this method earlier, but it is AMAZING. I tell everyone who's struggling with LG about it.

My LR has gone from -9 to -4 average. I am an ESL student so I am finding that the reason behind those 4 incorrect ones are usually reading speed. But I think most of my improvement is because now I predict the answer for at least 50% of questions before going through answer choices.

RC is my weakest now :/ although I went from -14 to -8 I can't seem to improve it further.

Aiming for a 168 :) I just like that number.

Account Expiring

Hi,

My 7Sage account is expiring in 3 days. I have taken the September LSAT and am waiting for the results. Is there a way that I can keep my account until I get the results back and decide if I want to extent my subscription then? Or do I have to pay again if I decide to take the November test?

Thanks.

"Provided" necessary or sufficient condition?

Hi,

I was wondering if "provided that" is a necessary or sufficient assumption indicator? (Please see below)

You will appreciate cultural differences "provided" that you reflect on your own civilization.

How about "contingent on", "assuming that", "as long as"?

Thanks

Hi all! Does anybody remember having the high fat diet and domestic iron mining questions?

My two cents: felt like this test was easier than July. LR seemed especially easier. LG didn’t have any weird setups but I agree with others that they were time consuming.

Happy to be done!

Yes, I had the fat and diet and iron mining thing. I had two LG sections.

I agree, RC was tough for me, and it was my first section. LG was pretty easy except for the first game which has one odd rule. LRs seemed relatively easy; although, I’m sure I may have misjudged a bunch. Lol

Cool, thanks for confirming on your end. Yeah, LR felt like my strong suit this time around. Hope you get the score you want!

Was the first LR experimental in the LR RC LR LR LG version?

I always finish all 4 games and usually get around -3 and I had to guess on 6 questions. Where was that easy 6 min max game anyway?????

I also did terrible on RC  I was far from confident when choosing answers! I wish I ha only focused on 3 passages.

I had very severe anxiety before starting PTs. I started going to kick boxing classes and after the classes I feel like I can think more clearly! I would say any high intensity aerobic workout class would work.

Also, I had insomnia so my doctor prescribed a medication to help me sleep better at night.

Study Plan

Hi,

I finished a course with PowerScore a week ago and after coming across 7 Sage video explanaitions I decided to enroll in this course to help me with the remainder of my prep. (Currently I am studying full-time and am planning to write the September LSAT. my average PT score is 154)

I was wondering if you have any recommendations about what study plan I should follow in these 3 months given that I have already studied PowerScore's core curriculum?

I have started writing 2 PTs a week and have started doing blind reviews after each PT. but one instructor told me that I should only write one PT a week since more than that would be a waste of PTs. Is that true?

Sufficient Assumption Question

I was wondering if the following answers are all correct predictions for the following Sufficient Assumption question.

Every student who walks to school goes home for lunch. It follows That some students who have part-time jobs do not walk to School.

Diagramed as: WS -> GHL

/GHL->/WS

---------------------------

PT some /WS

My predictions:

a. Some students who do not go home for lunch have a part-time job.

b. Every student who does not go home for lunch has a part-time job.

c. Most students who do not go home for lunch have a part-time job.

Thank you :)
