From the video#help explanation, it seems that "entail" is a word indicated conditional logic... Am I right?

I eliminate A because I thought "detrimental" is a strongly negative word( eg: harmful)... But in the passage, I think it only suggests that traits of assertiveness and combat is no longer necessary. How come the opposite of necessary is detrimental? Is detrimental not a strongly negative word?

Suggestions for unstable internet?

I signed up for June exam and have an accommodation for unstable internet. I am very worried about the WIFI issue since it stopped working for several minutes at my house once when I took my PT. But I am not sure if hotel will be a better choice since it will be a unfamiliar setting and may have some unforeseeable issue. Any suggestions about this WIFI thing or any recommendations for hotel or place in Boston or MA that will have stable internet for sure?

Many thanks in advance!

A couple of suggestions:

Try to find if there is any patterns in the questions you got wrong

Maybe re-examine your approach to questions (i.e. is it a question that I should have returned to the passage but did not (overconfident-error)? is it a question that I should have answered using my big picture understanding but did not?

Is June 2021 disclosed?

Hi,

I am just curious is the June 2021 disclosed? I remember hearing all flex exams are nondisclosed exam except the May 2020 one. But just wanted to double check!

Thanks!

I think improving familiarity with question type and with question-solving strategy is the most important thing for you right now. Because as you become familiar with the question type and strategy, your speed will improve naturally. I think organizing notes (write down all the question type, think about what each type is testing, and how to tackle each one) , and review wrong questions by type will help a lot in this regard.

Hi,

I would answer yes to both of your questions. But in order to make the process faster, I would advise to focus on practicing one type of game a time. I would divide the game in to linear(relative ordering, elements=positions, more elements than positions, more positions than elements) and grouping ( in/out, basic grouping, grouping game with repeated elements, and group+linear hybrid). The reason why I suggest it is because while the overall LG techniques for those games are similar, they do require different approaches. And it’s important that you become familiar with those approaches and key inferences. For instance, if you are dealing with a more elements than position linear game, you instantly have to know to pay attention to who needs to be out. Since if the out group are filled, everything else have to be in. And most cases there will be a couple of questions just testing this key inferences. Sometimes, there are key rules in linear game that hints scenarios. A common one is a “either or but not both” rule. In grouping game, numerical inferences or two conditional rules often hints scenarios. So I would suggest to practice games by type and practice recognizing common key inferences and scenarios trigger.

I had LR-LG-RC-LR. One LR had 25 questions, the other one had 26 questions. Is there any chance that the 25 question LR being the real one?? (Really hoped it is cuz the other one is much harder...)

I am doing some of the recent PTs and find myself struggle with the relationship among ideal experiment, control groups and causation. (eg: May2020 LR Q11, Q14). I know that ideal experiment could produce a casual outcome, but I still tend to make mistakes on questions testing the ideas of having control groups or of similar concepts. Are there any recommended material that I could read to better understand those concepts on the LSAT?

Many thanks!

When to start admission consulting

I am aiming to take the October LSAT and apply this upcoming cycle. I did not think too much about designing a law school list before because I wanted to focus on LSAT. But now I am a little nervous as the new application cycle is about to begin. Will it be too late to start preparing application materials besides recommendation letters after taking the October LSAT? How helpful could admission consulting be before having this October LSAT score on file?

Thanks!

Thanks! My PT results has been like that last week as well (actually slightly better than this week). Maybe because those two are quite old (PT29 and PTB) but I still feel there should not be too much discrepancy between practice and PT though…

I have been doing a combination of drills recently cover from accuracy to timing. For instance, one day I would do a group of medium level passages, timed and a timed LR section. The next day I would do some drills focus on techniques and accuracy. My drilling results is somewhat OK(-3/4 in LR and -4/5 in RC, and -2 in LG). But when I took PT yesterday my PT results was so much lower than my expedition(-6 in LR, -8in RC and -7 in LG). I feel my work throughout the week is not reflected. Any suggestions about what I should do?

Thanks!

I think practicing games by-type would help. I wouldn't recommend taking the whole game section if you are still missing many questions on LG. If you can master each game type, it wouldn't take you long before finishing a game section with accuracy.

In terms of game type, I would just loosely divide them up into linear games (linear; relative ordering), grouping games (each member must exist once with known/unknown group size; each member exist at least once with known/unknown; each member don't need to appear with unknown/known group size), and in/out games. Though all types are testing some ideas in the same way, each type do require somewhat different approaches and strategy. You kind of need to know how to tackle the game right after reading the rules. In my opinion, you can start to do more specific drilling based on game type...

Hope it helps!

In terms of choice E, can we safely assume that cities mentioned in the stimulus belong to "the most cities"? I have encountered questions that have "some cities" as trap answers because we do not know if "some cities" contain cities in the stimulus...

Hi @,

"Making inferences:" I have done all the games from PT40-PT89 almost three times, and I really think the key to accuracy is to make most key inferences before going to the games (frames are highly recommended). Most of the games give you key clues about how to make frames, for instance, either/or rules, chunks, restrictive elements, hints about numerical distributions, and etc. For instance, if one rule says either A or B can in position 1, the other says either C or D can be in position 3, those two either or rules can be combined to make 4 frames and having those frames can speed you up dramatically when solving questions. I would recommend not only use one rule to make frames, try to find two key rules.

"Getting from where I am to -0 consistently": Even thought it may sound boring, I would say repetition is the key. People I know who got -1 or -0 on the game section almost all did each game from PT40 at least 3 times. Because no matter how hard you think about the game, it's likely that you may forget what you've learned from this one game after a day or two. Repetition, however, can help you memorize patterns and it's highly likely you will get new insights every time you repeat the game. I also experimented this method myself, and it helps with my accuracy and speed greatly.

I hope it helps~
