For logic game explanation vids they are now showing a computed "target time" instead of the old suggested time bench marks that used to be there. For example, for one game he says in a video that you should aim for under 10 minutes for a game, but my "target time" for that game is 8:38. Is this an update? Before today I had never seen such specific target times under the videos. Also, In the past the time always seemed to line up with what JY said. Is there any way to switch this back?. Also how are these target times calculated?

Hi everyone. After scoring a 168 (4-5 points below my PT average) on the November LSAT, I have been studying for a retake in February. Since the November test I have been averaging over 175 and have scored as high as 180 (this felt great but it also stings that it wasn't on an official test). Does anyone have any advice on how to keep this momentum going and what my study plan should look like? I'm thinking of relaxing things as I don't have much room to improve and just need to lock in performance.
Also, does anyone have tips on performing up to or above your PT average on test day? Although my average is higher now, I would still like to avoid a 5 point drop if possible. From the advice of others on here, I have taken up meditation and am trying to adopt the mindset that my official test is just another practice test. Is there anything else I should try?
Thank you for the advice.
People with your numbers have a great shot at a large scholarship from Columbia. Probably not worth EDing unless you're fine paying sticker and don't want to go anywhere else.

Focus on speed/flow through games. Just like the rest of the sections, the time you bank at for another round at the end is where you pick up those last points.
Thanks for the advice. I will try to go through them faster so I have time to go over it again.
Does anyone have any advice for getting my LG score down from a consistent -2 to -0? I have already foolproofed games from PTs 1-50 but can't seem to get perfect scores consistently. I occasionally get -0 but my most frequent and average score is -2. Is there anything I can do besides continuing to take practice tests and reviewing/redoing the games? I have been stuck in this range since September and am not sure what else I can do.
I am curious as to what the average LSAT score on 7sage is. I am asking because even on the lowest difficulty questions where 96%+ people get them correct, the average score for the answer choice is typically around 167. Does this mean that the 7sage average score is only slightly lower at around 165? That would be quite an impressive average score for the site. Using this average score as advertising could likely help to get more people to sign up.
I apologize if this is answered elsewhere, but is there a way to add an experimental section to the digital tester? Also, should I still be using the 7sage proctor video for the digital LSAT?
Does anyone have any advice on getting LG down from -3 average to -1/0? I am currently averaging -2 on both LR and RC, so this is the only thing holding my score back from my goals. I have done every game from PT 1-35 multiple times and am not sure how to proceed. Should I continue taking full PTs and redoing the new games? I would not say i'm struggling with any particular game type, but I tend to make 1 costly error like misreading a rule and losing a ton of time before figuring it out. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks for the advice guys. I did not realize that there were sections for drilling at the end of the CC anyway. I will be doing all of the problem sets and keeping a wrong answer journal.
Hey everyone! I had a quick question about problem sets. While going through the core curriculum, should I be doing every problem set at the end of a unit? I have heard from some people that it can be advisable to save some of them to work on weak points once I start PTing. What do you think is best? For example, for MSS questions, there are 12 problem sets available. How many should I be doing before moving on to the next section? Thank you for the help.
While it is a personal decision, I would strongly consider retaking given that you think you can do better on the LSAT. This could open many doors to you with more acceptances or scholarship money.
Hi everyone. I have just started studying the core curriculum. I wanted to ask if we are supposed to be marking the Logical Reasoning questions like JY does during his explanations. Also, can we cross out answer choices? Are these features available on the digital version of the test? Thanks for the help.
Hi all. I have been PTing in the low 170s (averaging 172.5) and have only scored 175+ twice with a 175 and a 178. I scored in the high 160s on my first official test and would like to get my average high enough for my score to still be 173+ despite a test day drop. Does anyone have advice on how to consistently break into the mid to high 170s range? My main problem section is RC which typically ranges from -0 to -5. Is there any way to get this more consistent? Also, despite foolproofing games from pts 1-50, I still occasionally go -2 on LG. Is there anything more I can do to consistently get that to -0? I feel the most confident in LR where I average -1 and have never scored below -3.
I am considering trying a PT + review every day as some people I know had success with that strategy. While I think this may be unwise for some, I could see it being helpful for me as I have a strong understanding of the fundamentals. Or would I be better off just doing tons of RC and LG sections?
Thank you for the help!
I did not take a PT before the curriculum but I have gradually improved after the course. My first PT after the core curriculum was a 167 and I have recently scored as high as a 180 with a PT average of 175 over my last 5 PTs. The course teaches you the fundamentals but you will certainly improve with practice as you take more PTs.
I just got a popup that said something along the lines of "Wooo you broke the 170s barrier that's amazeballs" from JY. Is this an automated message that everyone gets, or was it personalized? I accidentally navigated away from the page and cannot find any way to see this again/respond. Does anyone else know?
Is that 178 a typo and meant to be 168? If not, why do you think you scored so much higher on PT 36 than PTs 38 and 40. Had you seen sections/questions in it before taking it? Also, you'd probably be pretty close to your goal if you got LG to -0. Perhaps you should focus on that before taking more PTs.
Hey everyone. I’m wondering if I should register to take the November flex. I recently finished the CC and scored a 169 on my first PT with LG as my weakest section. My goal score is 173+ so I am unsure if it is worth registering now or putting off my test date.
I don’t plan on applying for a while so I am not pressured in this way. However, I do feel that the flex is easier as it does not require as much endurance. For this reason, I feel slightly compelled to try the November test in case the flex is phased out afterwards.
Do you think I should register now or delay until a later date?
How long did it take you to see this improvement?
How many timed PTs did you do? Did you start taking full PTs immediately after finishing the CC?
@ What do you mean. The weird new target time is now under the videos?
@
Maybe you're onto something. I have done 5 full PTs now as well as the cc and multiple problem sets. Maybe once you have enough data it changes to target times under the vids. I would still like to change it back to J.Y's suggestions if possible though.
This exact same thing is happening to me. I would love to have the old times back as well.

Hi there,
No, this is not an update. The system calculates your target time based on collected data from top scorers. However, if the target time is missing on some questions that is because the system doesn’t have enough data yet to generate a “target time”.
Target time for LR is the median duration for students who got the question correct. For LG/RC, it's the median time for students who got -2 or better on the game/passage. The target time for each question is different. Some might be more than what you actually spent and some less.
Please let me know if that helped. I just want to make sure I've fully answered your questions.
If it is not an update, something has certainly changed (at least for me). Again, until recently the time under LG explanation vids used to be J.Y's suggested time but now it is the calculated target time. While I could see the calculated target time before by looking at my timing for a particular game, it did not appear directly under the video like it does now.
PTs A, B, and C have very difficult LG sections.
