Happy New Year and Words of Encouragement

Hi all,

Happy New Year! I wanted to thank JY, David and everyone at 7Sage and the community for all you do. For everyone having difficulty with lack of motivation and feeling like you want to give up, remember you're not the only one struggling. The LSAT is half of the battle but it sure can be achieved with commitment, determination and perseverance. Everyday we all have a choice to be and do better so push yourself to study hard and focus on the vision you have of yourself no matter what.

“We must dare to be great, and we must realize that greatness is the fruit of toil and sacrifice and high courage.”

-Theodore Roosevelt

Have a great day,

~BM

Hi Juliet, thank you for the update. Is the August administration in person instead of online?

I agree with the comments above. I think flashcards and real examples from the LSAT will help a lot. I also found that for each form if you try to come up with your own examples it makes it easier to see the patterns of reasoning.

Areas of Interest

Hi all,

I was wondering if it's really important to indicate areas of interest on the application. I am torn between two, I know it will definitely change in law school. So is it better to check the "I am not sure" box or just choose one of the two?

Thank you!!

You can find the lesson here https://classic.7sage.com/lesson/two-types-of-biconditionals/. In your example, "U serves on a different committee from that on which G serves." This is the always apart, never together biconditional because the rule states U and G have to be on different teams. It doesn't matter which one we cross out because in our biconditional chain they both indicate the same idea that they have to be always apart. When we unchain the biconditional, U (----)/G, we get U ---->/G and it's contrapositive G ---->/U. From this we can say that when U is in, G is out. Also, when G is in, U is out.

Now let's split this /U (----) G, we get /U ----> G and it's contrapositive /G ----> U. From this we can say that when U is out, G is in. When G is out, U is in. You see how we are really saying the same thing and it doesn't matter which one we cross out as long as we know that they are always apart and never together. Both of our chains indicate the same thing. The biconditional chain saves us time when we do games so that we don't have to write out the rules when we can just represent them in one chain. I hope this helps.

I think doing timed sections to see where your understanding is and your timing will help you transition better to doing full PT's rather than just doing PT after another. If your understanding is not solid, your score will reflect that and you'll waste valuable PT's for the future.

Hi all,

I was wondering if a separate essay is needed for addressing each one. It seems to me that they are the same thing. So can I just write a diversity statement or do I have to write one for UG as well or include it as an addenda.

Thank you in advance!

I couldn't agree more with the above comments. I think it's best to take the LSAT when your PT scores reflect your desired score. As @ stated you should take the LSAT when you feel that this will be your last time taking it and you know that you'll be performing to the best of your ability.

I agree with @. Sign up for the exam when you are consistently scoring at your target score or above on timed practice tests. Take your time studying, find out ways to make it fun using your specific learning style. Be easy on yourself and give your self a fair chance instead of rushing it. Breathe, you got this, one day at a time.
