While I appreciate your concern for my health, Ohno, you mis-inferred the point of my post. Colloquially, a reach school is something we hope for, but don't necessarily expect admission to.

Note that I did not solicit advice on how to get in to WUSTL. I'm starting a conversation with other applicants who hope for, but don't necessarily expect admission to WUSTL.

Is WUSTL your reach school?

My reach school is WUSTL - I have a friend who is a 1L there and had the opportunity to have lunch with a professor and sit in a class. I'm smitten.

I scored a 161 on the February LSAT. I'm an older student so there's a decade gap in my undergrad. My most recent GPA is 3.75 (one full time semester) but my overall GPA is 2.9 because of my early (under)performance.

My personal statement was about an experience which inspired me to pursue law school. I have a strong work history and I've spent the past couple years working at a nonprofit which offers pro bono legal services.

So far I've been accepted to Mizzou w a 60k scholarship. If WUSTL is your reach/dream school , I'd like to hear your story.

PT80.S1.Q24 - lucinda will soon be attending

https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-80-section-1-question-24/

For some context, I missed 5 in this section (including this one) and 4 in the other LR section which is typical for me. I BR'd my other misses and skips in this section and was able to get them all correct. This question, I haven't been able to conclusively state why all AC are either right or wrong. I think I'm messing up my diagramming... so if you see glaring errors below, please tell me where I'm screwing up!

I just guessed (A) during the test as I was out of time. In BR I diagrammed as follows:

L > NUem

NU m> WHem

_

L m> WH

which is flawed argument form

A > B m> C

_

A m>C

I skimmed over the AC for quick eliminations and I eliminated C because it contains "never" in the conclusion.

Then I began diagramming the remaining AC:

(A) My question here is do I diagram "probably" in the conclusion as "most"?

CMSMour

CMSM m> REH

_

CMSMour m> REH (probably diagrammed as most>)

I eliminated (A) because it follows a valid argument form:

Ax

A m> B

_

Ax m> B

(B) I diagrammed "generally" as most...

REH m> EG

REHour > /EG

_

REHour > EG

I eliminated (B) because while it doesn't follow the same invalid form as the stimulus

(D)

Cour > MSM > EG

_

C > MSM m> EG

I think this looks like:

Ax > B > C

_

A > B m> C

A m>C

therefore matching the question's flawed reasoning.

(E) I'm having trouble diagramming the first sentence so I reconstructed "Most cities that are regional economic hubs contain major shopping malls." to "Most cities that contain major shopping malls are regional economic hubs." Does this change the nature of the sentence?

C > MSM m> REH

Cour > MSM

_

Cour m> REH

OR am I just complicating this and its as easy as:

REHcity m> MSM

OURcity > MSM

_

OURcity m> REHcity

which follows:

A m> B

Cx > B

_

Cx m> B

E just confuses me... and I can't figure out why.

I haven't watched the explanation, nor have i looked to see what the correct answer is because I'm really trying to work this out! Thanks in advance!

Badass! Can I ask time elapsed between 157 -170 and study habits/approach?

I'm 32. I understand the pressure to go straight to school but the year you'll spend to improve your LSAT will be worth $ - it's not a wasted year. Furthermore, it'll give you an opportunity to take up a sport, hobby, volunteer, or find work that will help you improve yourself and therefore your application. Don't give it any more thought. The people in your life will appreciate the wisdom and patience in your decision. Good luck. :)

Yes, link conditionals where possible. Also, however, remember that these rules are separate, and are sometimes better understood as such. I hope that makes sense.

Yes, it does. Thank you and everyone else for your responses.

Go for it. If you don't get what you're aiming for then you'll have a much better idea of what you need to do to get there.

I'd love to see these.

I draw a three item sequence and circle it. After practice you get used to distinguishing this from a three item block. It's just a quicker notating method after a while.

Do you also draw out "master" sequencing chains by tying these chains to the other rules or proceed directly to the questions?

..."but not both" sequencing games. I've been practicing these after the Dec LSAT. I thought I had a good handle on them but I took way too long to diagram my possible worlds game 2 (I realized I made a mistake halfway through the question set and had to redo them).

I'm currently doing drills in Powescore's LG workbook.

What exactly are "but not both" sequencing games? I'm not too familiar with the Powerscore nomenclature.

Not sure this is Powerscore terminology. As far as I'm aware, Powerscore does not distinguish games in this way.

OP is more likely wondering how to efficiently represent the 'but not both' rules often found in sequencing games.

Precisely.

mine was LR LG LR LR RC. I can confirm the above for real LG and RC. 2nd LR?: pollution from diesel boats contributing to acid rain and global warming, 3LR: wines from certain soil are something and age well 10 years. I had the oil prices re inflation and flat rate surcharge vs percentage here too. Blanking on the first LR.

Did anybody else have as much trouble with the apartment game as I did? I felt like the other three were fine (which now I’m anxious was because I somehome completely missed something) but the apartment game threw me off so badly! I had no idea how to solve it

Is this game at all like anything else anyone has seen? Was this one of those rare 15 minute games or were there some game changing inferences? I only had about 5 minutes to dedicate to this.

had three LRs, i remember one was hard... it had 26 questions and a question about an ancient greek charachter reading a tablet that asked to reject one of the statements? Was that experimental?

Some PLEASE tell us this was experimental?

I had the same thing. Please let me know if you find out if the tablet one is the experimental

I think it was the experimental. My experimental section was RC and I'm sure I did not have this question in either of my LR sections

I had only 2 LR sections...and I did see the greek tablet question in one of my LR's.

Ditto.

LSAC transcript delay?

Is anyone else having an issue waiting for LSAC to process a transcript? My undergrad submitted my transcripts via the electronic exchange over a week ago but it's still not showing on LSAC.

I've read this quote before but not attributed to Calvin Coolidge. Looked it up and sure enough it has other origins: https://quoteinvestigator.com/2016/01/12/persist/#more-12797
