Advice to improve by Sept?

I am currently signed up for the September LSAT but I am considering postponing to December or February. I am a full-time student, so I would prefer to take it in Feb rather than Dec (because the February sitting will be right after a long break in January, and the December sitting will be during finals). However, I would rather take it in Sept than Feb because then I won't have to balance school and LSAT at all.

I am aiming for a 175+. My PTs have been steadily increasing from 159, 163, 168, and most recently, a 169.

I regularly go -0 on LG. RC and LR are less consistent. I range anywhere from -1 to -5 on each LR section, and -1 to -5 on RC. Oftentimes my mistakes on LR are very apparent to me once I see that I got the question wrong, and it is usually an answer that I was unable to eliminate, but still didn't like. RC usually depends on the passages and how quickly I can get through them. I usually never finish with extra time on any section except LG.

I am looking for suggestions on ways I can improve (like strategies for drilling, taking PTs, taking timed sections, etc) by Sept 16th so that I can hit my goal, OR I am wondering if people think this jump won't be possible in a few weeks and that I should postpone until Dec/Feb.

Your best bet is probably to check 7Sage's updated list of application requirements per school and the advice they give for which/how many supplementary essays are suggested for each school.

Where is this list? Can you link it?

Established merit scholarships in T14

Does anyone know of any resources for information on merit scholarships at the T14? Specifically thinking about the established/named scholarships that they don’t really publicize. I’ve only heard of most of these because of occasional mentions on various admissions forums; some schools mention them vaguely on their websites and others don’t at all. I’d love a comprehensive list of what’s out there, and estimates about what stats you typically need to get offered one (I know the schools don’t offer the official stats, but I feel like there is probably a general consensus out there).

Here’s a short list I’ve been working on that definitely needs more work:

Columbia- Hamilton and Butler

Michigan- Darrow

NYU- Vanderbilt

Duke- Mordecai

Penn- Levy, Toll

Chicago- Rubenstein, Cafaro

Alternatively, any T14 schools that are throwing money at PI students?

What are good consulting companies to look at besides 7Sage and Spivey?

I agree with @ that college students have more spare time. Sure, it sucks to have to learn stuff in addition to your classes and I spent very little time with my friends, but I definitely was able to work a study schedule in without having to get up really early before work or stay up late after work taking PTs. I did my learning while I was interning full time over the summer, and that was taxing. My class schedule gave me more flexibility in being able to take PTs at a normal time of Day regularly throughout the semester

I started studying in June, finished up most of my learning/drilling in August, and then PTd 2-3x a week every week until Dec and got a 178.

I had 3 LRs the order was LR RC LR LR LG and had questions about

-mayor getting re-elected

-black/white camoflauge

-Greek charachter reading a tablet from an oracle

-disagreement about how companies considering... should go about it

black/white camouflage was real, greek character was real, disagreement about companies considering like the data thing was real, don't remember major re-election per se but I do remember an election one based off of supporting development or not

Someone please help!!! Was the LR question about a movie review where it asked what phrase the second speaker misinterpreted real???

I got this question.

did you have an experimental LR?

If you mean the one about the movie review in the paper and if they should see the movie based on that, it was real!

had three LRs, i remember one was hard... it had 26 questions and a question about an ancient greek charachter reading a tablet that asked to reject one of the statements? Was that experimental?

Some PLEASE tell us this was experimental?

Greek play with character reading oracle thing was definitely real!! It was such a weird question.

I had LR RC LR LR LG

Freaking LR drained me. I thought RC was a lot better than September but I was mentally stuck on the last two LGs and had to guess basically most of the floor game. I realized I could have done something more efficient with my board but it was too late.

All the LR is mushed together in my mind so I have no idea in what sections they we're but...

I had LR on PTSD

LR Planet 256

LR copper tools

LR on tornados (this wasn't included on the master post)

LR on goddamn lichens (this wasn't included on the master post)

According to the RC, there must be a multiverse where I actually scored what I wanted. :weary:

I remember LR on sensing tornados so that was real! don't remember LR on lichens so that might have been experimental.

The other (closed) thread called the copper tool/canoe LR question experimental. That was definitely real.

There was also one about an ancient fish with fingers, if that hasn’t been mentioned yet.

How many LR sections did you have?

Can second the ancient fish with fingers LR question! only had 2 LR sections so I know it was real.

can anyone confirm if LR section with a question about 7pm and 6pm was real?

The one where like if one group reached a quorum, it would be at 7 and if the other did, it would be at 6? Yes definitely that was real.

IMO LR didn't feel too hard and RC wasn't that bad (except the 4th about CPG and social darwinism passage had one question that stumped me). LG was definitely toughest section for me and tougher than Sept. Overall I felt like this test was easier than Sept test (based off of taking that as a PT a week ago)

@ can confirm Copper Tools and Canoes LR was real (from post on real/experimental). Had experimental LG and that was definitely in my LR.

Any curve predictions?

Tbh I thought the real LG was kind of hard.

Agreed real LG (if it was the one with cleaning floors) was tough. Didn’t finish last passage and I usually always finish with 5 minutes left.

I’m pretty sure the real LG section was the one with the rumors at the end. Why do people think that one was experimental? I thought the other LG was experimental bc it had [removed] (this was the one with the cleaning floors)

Confirm action

Are you sure?
