Hello,

I am wondering if anyone knows anything about February test/test takers. Specifically, I wrote in December (in Ontario) and am not at all happy with my score... and have been scoring waaaay higher on diagnostic tests. I have decided to rewrite in February... but I'm so worried that decisions will be made based on my December score. However... I have already changed my "future LSAT date" on OLSAS to February. Basically what I am wondering and am concerned about, is whether I have lost my chance.

Sincerely,

A concerned and frustrated candidate!

Can I ever relate to you!! I had the exact same thing happen to me. Now I am so worried that I have lost my chance of getting accepted for September. I am going to write in February (Ontario, Canada), but I'm so worried that decisions will already be made! I knoooooooow I'm more than capable to do this as well. So I totally understand all of your frustrations!

I am sending you the best of luck!

I’m so disappointed/lost/confused/sad/discouraged. I studied for the LSAT full time for six months. I was averaging around 158-160 for a solid four months. I took the September LSAT and fell 9 points below my average PT score. I figured I was just experiencing test anxiety (I’m a terrible test taker), and would try again in December. Now that I know the process, I won’t be anxious in December, right? Wrong. I completely and utterly bombed my December exam. To the point that Iaughed when I saw my score, then cried, then laughed again. I felt like a crazy person. I fell 16 POINTS BELOW my average. I printed out the test and retook it at home yesterday without looking at my previous answers, so that I could really give it an honest shot and see where I messed up. I scored my average PT score again. I’m so upset and disappointed in myself because I KNOW I can do this. I know I understand the material and that I can hit my average. I’m just so confused and scared now to retake in February. I registered for February but I’m really hesitant now. I’m afraid I’m going to fall even lower than my Dec test (if that’s even humanly possible- my score was so hideous), and to be honest, I don’t even know if I have the mental stamina to take this damn devil of a test again :( any advice, thoughts, comments or words of encouragement would be so great. I’m so clouded. Thanks in advance, everyone!

Thank you for your help!

All of my applications were due November 1st so I did not write an addendum :( But in my personal statement I did say that I am writing in December because my September score did not reflect the scores I have been getting all of this time. In my personal statement instructions I was given the opportunity to talk about anything that did not go as well or smoothly (e.g. previous courses where you may have gotten a lower grade, low LSAT score, etc.,), so I did write a good section acknowledging my intentions... I pray that is going to be helpful?!

I made this post in a related discussion post but thought I'd paste it here:

TL;DR: Yes, your schools will know you are retaking. Also: it might raise a flag for a school that you are retaking and they will probably want to know why. I would recommend writing an addendum.

If you send it in now and not mention it at all to your schools, I think some schools may go ahead and review your application anyway (and then you could likely use your later score to negotiate for higher scholarships after being granted admissions, but if not granted admissions, I don't think they will re-review your score in light of your December score). Alternatively: the school may see that you are retaking it and then will table your application until your December score comes in. It will likely depend on the school. Again, this is the scenario in which you don't say anything about it.

But I wouldn't do that. I would recommend mentioning something in an addendum to explain why you are retaking, as it shows some transparency and will help to guide their decision to how to review your application in light of this retake.

I am in a similar scenario: I sat for the September LSAT but because I live in Central Florida and my house got hit with a hurricane a few days before the test day, I wasn't psychologically fit for the exam (though I sat for it anyway). So I wrote an addendum about it. However, this admissions consultant still encouraged me to submit my application earlier with the simple addendum even though my score won't be in until January.

I would actually encourage you to write a simple addendum that explains why you're retaking that doesn't say "I just want to get a higher score". Otherwise, this shows the admissions reader that you initially took the exam when you weren't fully prepared. But say, maybe you were feeling sick or had some emotional factors that negatively impacted your first score, which might be a more justified reason to retake. Either way, I think an addendum will help clear up and potential flag that may arise as a result of having a pending score.

Hey everyone,

I'm a little worried that law schools (in Ontario) will not know that I am writing the LSAT in December. My concern is that they will only look at the score from September and base whatever judgements off of that.

However, I did select my "future test date" on OLSAS... so is this how schools will all know that I will have another score coming in soon?

Thank you so much!

Happy studying :)

I had 3 LR -- "It was all a dream..." that lyric has never been more relevant!

One of my sections had a question about ivy and building and another about B2 (or some kind of vitamin)... another section had a disagree question something about journalism/newspaper articles... and then the last section included a question maaaaaybe about election candidates???

.. As I implied... such a blur lol

Can someone tell me which of the following LR is experimental? I had LR Lg Lr lr RC. The first LR had (ivy and building construction), maybe (foreshock and earthquake). Second had (blame malice moral wrong) , maybe (possum dietary). Third one i don’t remember for sure, it might have (deep ethical issues). Thanks a bunch!!

Yes, that would have been experimental!

    Annoying Issue of 2nd Guessing!

    Hey everyone,

So I seem to always have an issue of 2nd guessing my answers... and most of the time it is in LR. Within the two answers that I come down to, 1 is always the right answer and then the other is not. However... I find myself 2nd guessing the ones that just seem too obvious, and since the answer choice seems too simple or too obvious I don't end up choosing it. I would say that 9 times out of 10 when I get an LR question wrong it is because of 2nd guessing the answer choice (I actually note the ones I 2nd guess on, which is how I know this).

I'm wondering if anyone has any pointers in how to deal with this... how can I finally stop 2nd guessing those answers?! Overcoming this problem is way harder than it seems lol.

    Thanks!! Happy studying :)

Is it just me, or was Q5 worded annoyingly confusing? Lol - I had to reread the question a few times to figure out what it was even asking me!

I'm still not 100% sure that I know it was asking... could someone, anyone maybe clarify? :)

Yay reading comp... said no one ever.

    Proctor Complaint

    Hey everyone!

I hope everyone is recovering from Saturdays test well... I feel so lost not studying!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the protocol is for issuing a complaint about a proctor and their assistant?! I wrote in Ontario, and my proctor and his assistant were so bad and so so disruptive... I'm so disappointed because I'm so worried that I couldn't focus on my second section (LR).

Basically what happened was the assistant walked out of the room during the test and somehow got locked out... and when the proctor tried to go let them back in, he couldn't. So there was a bunch of banging. If you imagine yourself trying to pull open or push open a door that is locked, multiple times, then thats exactly what happened during Saturdays test. I couldn't believe it... and I still can't!

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated :)

The test is a blur! Lol I'm blanking on the different questions from LG... but I had 2 sections also, and in one of them there was a question about 'leakages' or 'leaks.' I believe it was the last question of the section. Do either of you remember if that section was the real or experimental?
