What does "Score of students with a 50% chance of getting this right" mean??

If you narrow the options down to two choices, does the score given mean you should get AT LEAST NEAR or ABOVE it?

What else could a "50% chance of getting this right" mean?

@J.Y.Ping hmm, that makes sense. However, I have such a wide range of scores. Since August I've gotten (in order): 166, 163, 156, and I just got 170 yesterday. I am not super comfortable knowing it could be anywhere between 156-170. Thoughts?
