Different Flaw Types

What are some of the ways you learned to study the different flaw types? I've been trying flashcards but I'm not retaining any of it. Any advice?

I agree as well. I’m in the eastern time but I do have a flexible schedule. There’s just 3-4/ week I might be unable to do because of work.

OMG that's awesome!! Thank you for sharing. How did you do it? What does your study routine look like?

You would have to click on the little square next to the statement indicating that you've finished BR. Then it will have a "button" for you to click on to show your results w/the answers.

Hi there, I'm definitely interested in a study buddy. Like you, I work full time with a varying schedule and have been studying for 2 years. Let me know if you'd like to set something up!

Hi there. So I also have this issue. In fact I'm drilling weakening and strengthening QT to get stronger on them. A few tips I'd offer is review the questions you got wrong. There's a pattern you just gotta find it. I often found that I was misunderstanding the stimulus and AC, so, I would break down the stimulus, note key words, label parts of the stimulus. Then I would find the assumption, often times (or that I've noticed) it's in the conclusion but the premises support it. Its this assumption that you either strengthen or weaken. For a weakening QT, you'll negate the assumption found. For a strengthening QT

you'll expose and affirm the assumption made. Each QT can be as simple as finding the assumption, or have a causation/correlation, argument by analogy, phenomenon/hypothesis reason for it to be correct. Often times for a AC to be wrong they will be ineffectual/irrelevant/ or weaken/strengthen depending on the QT. The stimulus is your best friend when it comes to answering the question. Try very hard not to bring outside information. Also, if you find yourself really trying to make the answer work, as in sculpt it to answer it, it just may be wrong (at least it is for me it was). There will be AC that will lead you to make more assumptions unnecessarily, which also makes them wrong. I would recommend reviewing all of your wrong answers and read through them and finding that pattern. I would also go through the problem sets within the CC as review. Start with the easy ones and work your way up. With practice and review you'll start to see the assumption. I hope this helps.

So I also have to agree with Christopher. Working full time and studying is difficult. I also recommend making a schedule for yourself as well. Like Christopher, I recommend you make an hour-to-hour schedule to help give yourself discipline to prepare for the LSAT.

I also work full time however, I have a variable schedule as I work in the hospital where my days each week are different from the one before. On average I have 4 days/week to study but there are times that I have one day for rest because I'll just be exhausted from working 3 days in row; I work 13-hour shifts and my commute is 1 hour each way. I think it best you find a time in the day that works best for you to study, either morning or afternoon. For me its mornings or early afternoon and I'm averaging 4-8 hours each day. When I first started studying I was only able to do 2-4 hours but with time its been getting longer, I've slowly been trying to build my stamina so I can spend more time in the day to study to make up for the lack of time I have available. So far I've been working alongside the study schedule, but am nowhere near its projected timeframe. I haven't been able to study 40 hours each week. I would try to be as patient with yourself as possible and learn at your own pace as we are all different from one another. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out. Best of luck to you.

@.francis Thank you for sharing this post! It's absolutely helpful regarding timing and improvements for strategy.

@- Thank you for this helpful tip. It's an interesting strategy I would be willing to try for the next time. I certainly need to strengthen the timed tests.

@ I thank you very much for your advice. On BR there is a sort of semi-habitual approach to answer each QT but it's definitely not standardized. The goal will be to form my own sort of "how to" from the resources I've learned over time and apply it to each QT. I'm sure over time and with consistency I will see the drastic approach that will help my understanding in timed circumstances when I approach them. Again, thank you!

@ I BR each question. I know it is time consuming but I want to ensure my understanding of the stimulus and QT. I have struggled in the simplicity of the foundation in the stimulus and what it is saying for some time. I've seen improvement though. On the timed sections, I am pure anxiety and answering the questions seems foreign. I will work on a skipping strategy for the timed section on my next approach. Thank you for your help!

Help/Advice for Huge Gap between Timed and BR Score

Hello,

Throughout my LSAT journey, LR continues to be my weakest point. I've started to do drills lately to significantly improve my understanding. However, on the timed score I've been averaging -12-14 but on the BR score, the average is between -2-5/section. Some issues I've started to notice are, time, not reading properly on timed sections, misinterpreting the AC's, or just kind of freeze & freak out. As soon as I BR, I'm able to see my errors and choose the correct AC. I do take anywhere between 2-4 hours to complete it. I understand that it's not an ideal time-frame, my goal is to improve on my time strategy. But, can anyone offer any advice or help for the huge discrepancy between my timed and BR score? Or should I just keep trying to improve my foundational knowledge and time?

Help- How to find all starred LG

Hi All,

I wondered if anyone knew where to find the starred individual LG's to review later. I starred some hard ones to review later on but am unable to find them individually. Does anyone know how to find them again? I'm sure it's simple enough but here I am lol. Thanks!

For those of us who work full time with a flexible schedule, is it possible to alternate which class we go to each week? For example, I work every other weekend as well as every other Tuesday, so I can join the class for the schedule week accordingly?
