A: Confuses the conditions necessary for political freedom with the conditions sufficient to bring it about.
What are the conditions necessary/sufficient for political freedom here?
The AC is saying that the political scientist thinks "political freedom → democracy," while actually it is supposed to be "democracy → political freedom."
However, the political scientist's argument is flawed because it ignores that democracy does not need to be the sufficient or the necessary condition for producing political freedom. I guess the reason D is correct is because it notes the distinction between "promote" and "produce”.
I think it is because B doesn't have the word "only"
Is it a good way to think that E would be correct if the question asks "which one of the following is an assumption required by the science writer's CONCLUSION?"

Hey, I think I know why A is correct. The discrepancy can be solved in the way that since the mortgage lenders consider only a person's high credit score, that person probably have some other risk factors that are more severe that make the person have the risks of default. For example, a mortgage borrower probably has never borrowed money for a house, so he/she has a high credit score, which doesn't mean that he/she has a lower risk of default. And that's exactly what A is trying to explain. I hope that's helpful!
I still don't understand why A is the correct answer.
I am not 100% sure about why not choosing Answer Choice E because if the poison is put into food sources that are eaten by rodents but not by grey squirrel, the officials fail to eliminate the squirrels with the poison.#help
