I took a smartphone photo against a white wall and they asked no questions.

With a 4.0 in a philosophy program, I think you probably have potential to score pretty well. You seem to have many things you can accomplish in another year, outside of the LSAT. It's not like your life will be at a stand still while you work on your LSAT. But one thing to consider is where you want to practice and what you want to do. That can influence your decision about what type of law school will fit your needs. Do some research on what you may want to do. Visit a few law schools during your studies to see what may fit you best. Start writing your personal statement. Giving yourself another cycle may help you have a stronger application beyond just getting a higher LSAT, depending on how you spend your time. And getting that 168+ will put you in pretty good standing to get some great scholarships at some great schools.

And I think its the July test that allows you to cancel.

I think you are supposed to get a transcript for any place you took any classes for credit. I had to request a transcript for 1 class I dual enrolled in during high school. So I would suggest starting the process of getting that transcript pretty soon.

I think June is still paper. One thing to consider is that no matter what format you take in July, you can see your score before you cancel. I would also suggest trying a study aid other than Kaplan. Perhaps getting different thoughts on the LSAT will help you get to your goal. The Powerscore Bibles are a great place to start. They really helped me increase my score, even though I was only able to study for about a month.

I took the LSAT the week before my finals because a testing center error forced a two week delay to Dec 1, and I really wish I would have been able to take it at a time when I was not dealing with finals.

If you are willing to push toward March, why not June or July?

Well I am definitely planning to apply within the next 2 weeks. I just didn't know if schools would see that there is an incomeing transcript and hold my app. It took about 2 weeks when I submitted my transcript the first time. And my gpa will be exactly the same. Will law schools think it's suspicious if I don't send the new one in?

Updated Transcript?

Now that the semester is over and new grades are in, do I need to send LSAC an updated transcript? I STILL haven't applied to any schools yet (my procrastination at work) so I was wondering if this would hold up my app even further? If it makes any difference, my GPA will not have changed between the two transcripts.

Wow omg. That is awful. I’d definitely be in touch with LSAC ASAP to find out how they will remedy it. Not a lot of precedence for that happening, I’ve never heard of proctors no-showing.

I called LSAC immediately after I got in my car in the test center parking lot. They seemed as perplexed as I was!

It was a pretty strange situation. LSAC sent out an email to the affected test takers saying they will give us options next week. I think there were some extremely extenuating circumstances that caused the issue, but I doubt I will ever find out what happened. I think it will somehow all work out, especially since I wasn't feeling very prepared or well rested for today's test!

Test postponed because of no proctors?

When I arrived at the testing center this morning, the proctors were MIA. 9AM rolls around and there are still no proctors. The representative of the university we were testing at called LSAC and they told her that the test would be officially postponed due to lack of proctors, and with that news, we all left the testing center. Has this happened to any of you before? If so, what options did LSAC give you to correct for the situation?

Any schools, so long as you as signed up for CRS. I get plenty from schools I would never go to, and never even knew existed lol.

Thanks!

Can any school send you a fee waiver? Or is it only schools that are on your list in LSAC?

Scholarships and Retake Suggestions

I finally got my LSAT score, and I went from a 163 in September to a 166 on the Dec 1 test. I am pretty happy with that, as it puts me above the 75% at every school I want to apply to, except one that I don't even know if I really want to attend. However, a 166 is lower than every score I have had on a prep test after I began studying. Before I began I got a 160 and 158 on prep tests. During my studies this summer I got I believe a 168,169, and 170. However, because of a very hectic semester, I had to stop studying before I took the actual tests. Should I retake in January? The only reason would be to place myself at the LSAT median of UVA (the one school I mentioned earlier) and to increase my chance for scholarships at all the other schools.

My current numbers are 4.00/166, and I think I have strong recs and pretty okay softs. How likely am I to get significant or full scholarships? Would retaking make much of a difference? Would applying late December/early January still put me in a position to get these scholarships?

Right now, I think my first choice is Wake Forest, but I still need to visit other places like Washington & Lee, William & Mary, and others with similar stats in NC and VA.

Hi Sarah,

I am also having the same problem. I took the make-up and still have not gotten the scores. I called and they said "soon" with no set date. I have also been looking around online, and found something on the powerscore forum saying that we would have them sometime by December 17. I wish they hadn't gotten our expectations up for the Saturday release, because I feel like I have been glued to my email for the past 2 days, and nothing about their response has been able to convince me to stop being glued to my email.

First, getting a 164 on the LSAT is far from being considered unintelligent. A 164 is the goal score for many very intelligent people. Some people just don't think in the way the LSAT wants you to think. There are many law schools in the top 35 that would give significant scholarships for that score. I would consider investigating further into employment prospects for top regional law schools, because from what I have seen, they are far from "quite miserable." Especially if you are the top of your class. If you feel that something else would suit you better, there are many other options out there. If your scores are discouraging, maybe take a break and consider your aptitude for other vocations. However, I think if you broaden your thoughts about law school, I think you would find many opportunities for success.

Just called LSAC. It is over 48 hours sine score release began, and they say it should be there soon. No definite date. Just "soon."

Very true! I just wish they hadn't said our release date was the same. If they aren't planning to release the scores that day, don't make all the people who took the make-up wait all day for them.

No score yet?

So, I wasn't able to take the test on November 17. Mine was moved to December 1. My score still has not been released, even though the score release date is still showing as today. Will they still be releasing scores this late in the day?
