what are the other 2 types of argument that are being referenced? And what type of logic was being used? I am guessing formal logic was one

#help I thought valid inferences included 3 types for some/most. A --M--> B --> C then A --M-->C. He is saying the conclusion is A <--S--> C ....??

I was left with CDE. I chose D, but E explains the decline the MOST. After rereading the stimulus the question is literally: Why is has there been a decline in Chem. degrees?? C is a throwaway; you have to make a lot of assumptions for C to explain. It also doesn't align with the given facts that we must treat as accurate. Chemistry majors have remained consistent, so we don't concern ourselves with those students who are unsure. It does not matter. Now, my answer choice D, which in hindsight totally does not answer the question, I had to make an assumption that is a big stretch from what has been given in the stimulus. I made an assumption that those who entered college as a chemistry major could reasonably switch because they probably have the prerequisites to graduate with a similar science degree. Therefore, their chances of getting a job are still just as good if they make the switch. E felt too simple to make sense. But it explains the sequence of events best. Enter uni as a chem major --> hate the first year ---> don't graduate with a chem degree because of that first year experience.

I was between B and D. The first read through I was confused by the word "moratorium" but later it was replaced by the word ban. This was a causal argument but it was hidden behind comparing two similar things. My brain was so focused on that comparison that I chose D. D made sense initially because if other lakes in Pawpaw mountains were have increases then that singled High water out and thus it must be something OTHER than the ban. The ordering of ABCDE gets me some times and it feels like good answer choices slip past me. I feel like I NEED to read all the answer choices even when one is good enough. How do I deal with this dilemma??

PSA overcomplicates SA unnecessarily. I prefer diagramming.

"or" through me off I guess because a forgot that or can also be a conjunctive and not just a disjunctive. Still I am confused why not just use AND...

hi a bit confused I missed why we would make this a conjunctive ? You did not explain why box and proposal should be conjunct.

leaving this here. I was stuck between A and E. I used this rule of thumb "conclusion because premise". Now fill in each answer choice and then switch them. The region needs to find new ways to enhance business growth BECAUSE outdated public policy inhibits business growth in the region.

Conversely (and wrongly) we try E as the conclusion. Outdated public policy inhibits business growth in a region BECAUSE the region needs to find new ways to enhance business growth??? makes no sense.

What confuses me about B as the answer choice is that the passage says "thus, in the fax industry" I felt that in answer choice B "in some industries" was too broad of a generalization....... any assistance ??

Confirm action

Are you sure?
