LSAT WRITING MESS UP

HELP hahahhaah I took the lsat writing a week ago. I have tendencies to be a bit dyslexic when I am nervous........ so the whole time I am calling the main person in the prompt CLARA and today when my writing got approved I looked at the prompt again and her name is CARLA!!!!!!!!

I am dying inside from OMG what do I do but also..... it is pretty funny. Like it's not the biggest deal in the world, I have strong writing and could take it again, but wouldn't this one stay on file? I could write an addendum on my application?? Any advice?

Missed this one on the test, and BR, and talking it over with my study partner. WOW. But I get it. I assumed human cognition to just sub in the argument. I can see how it's a big jump. C is a lot more simple to prove than E.

DC Area Study Partners

I'm in DC looking for study partners! I work part time, so my afternoons (after 12:30pm) on weekdays are generally open, plus weekends. I've found I get a lot more out of studying when I'm talking it over with someone else. PM me if you're interested and we can make plans to get together! I'm fresh out of the CC, scoring in the 150's. Planning on April/June LSAT. Aiming for 170!

I agree with the advice offered above! What's particularly worked for me is biting off a little at a time. So, you're waking up at noon for the past couple months. Tonight you might go to bed at your usual time, but tomorrow, wake up at ten in the morning. This will help your body adjust to an earlier bedtime and an earlier wake up. After a few weeks of 10AM, move to 8AM, and so on. Exercise in the morning is good and will help you wake up, but don't bite off more than you can chew. Ease into this or else, at least for me, it doesn't stick. It's amazing how much you can get done in the morning-- eventually you'll learn to love early mornings! lol

Another advocate for working part time. I tried full-time studying and I've found I'm legit getting more done now that I have work four hours a day. My study time is so much more efficient. It helps because your lsat time is set. Waking up in the morning and realizing all I had to do all day was study for the lsat was really overwhelming and didn't go well hahahah. So yes! Get a part time job. Your study time will hardly be effected by it.

I'm in DC, and am looking for this kind of study partner as well. I'm a recent college grad (English Lit), just moved here in August with my husband. Currently working part time. Also applying for Fall 2021. Haven't taken an official LSAT yet, but been studying for about 4 months. Just finished the CC, and ready to start PTing and drilling timed sections. Also looking to hit 168+! PM me if you're down and we can exchange emails!

I'm in a similar boat! Graduated in July and was studying until December. I decided the gap was worth it, in order to get a great LSAT. Most advice from adcoms I've heard has been to address the gap in your resume with a brief addendum. I think you will be fine as long as you're still filling your time not lsat-ing with volunteering or things like that.

I've heard it said many times in the wedinars David Busis does with admissions people at different schools that a low GPA needs two things: an addendum and a high lsat score. If I were you, I'd invest in the lsat. Get an amazing score, and they'll know you're capable. Best of luck!!

I also had this question and asked around-- a ton of people I know who are in law school right now applied later in the cycle and still got in. If your score is in the range you want it to be, shoot your shot!

Idk if you've had this recommended before but if you're looking to improve on LR-- I ordered "The Loophole" by Ellen Cassidy per a few 7sage recommendations and it's actually really helpful in understanding the meat of LR. It's not too expensive on Amazon, and it's certainly helped me out a ton. Anyway, sounds like you are doing amazing! I wouldn't worry too much about score fluctuation, happens to everybody. Just keep at it!! You got this!

I'm in too. I agree, studying alone is so isolating and some accountability will be encouraging!

Recognize right answer --> correct

or

Eliminate incorrect answers --> correct

/correct --> /RRA & /EIA

I just finished undergrad and moved to a new city, so I'm trying to decide if I should solely focus on the LSAT or if it would look better on my app for me to have a job durning this time?? I'm planning on taking the LSAT in Feb and applying next cycle, so obviously I'll be getting a job, but I'm wondering if that's something I should be focused on now or if I'm okay simply focusing on the LSAT for the coming months until I take it. TIA!

Haha I didn't find this one easy SOS! The word 'actually' really threw me off. When I was doing this Q, I didn't know whether actually introduced context or if we were headed into the argument.. . Now that I've watched J.Y.'s explanation a few times I can see the point of the argument. Why would Springhill discourage conservation even though they were going into water emergencies was too often? Because their threshold was too high.

I picked C initially, and then changed to A on blind review. face palm

C made sense. Then I got all in my head on BR, and decided the LSAT writers were trying to trick me with C so I went with A. But I can definitely see why C is right. Cavities are potentially harmful according to the argument, and should not be treated by means that are definitely harmful.
