Regardless of how valuable a gift is from an absolute perspective, if it is precisely what is expected or customary relative to the situation, then we can safely conclude it's not worth more than expected or customary.

I also did this. But I now realize that just because perhaps the gift benefitted Charles to the extent that he got rid of something it seems he didn't want and the gift cost him nothing, we don't know if self-benefit was the intention behind the gift.

I also incorrectly reasoned that because Charles off-loaded tickets that he presumably did not want, he intended to benefit himself by giving these tickets away, and therefore the gift was selfish. But just because Charles hates the opera and gave away his opera tickets, it doesn't necessarily follow that his intention was to benefit himself. We just don't know the intent behind the gift, and we also don't know the value relative to what is customary or expected and as a result, cannot conclude the gift was selfish, making A wrong.

In answer choice D, we fail the necessary condition for generous because the gift is not worth more than expected or customary. As such, we can fail our sufficient condition (generous). I failed to recognize that since all the kids get that gift for graduation, it's not worth more than what is expected or customary.

@matthewcsorrels859 Yes, I mean 6 sets of four games. Thank you so much for your reply and for the encouragement - I'm relieved to hear that it's normal to still be struggling with LG at this stage. I'll keep pushing ahead, and wait till I've fool proofed 25-30 full sections before expecting significant improvement. Thanks again! I really appreciate it.

LG Help Needed

I have been studying LG consistently for the past five months. I finished the entire LG core curriculum, foolproofing every single game along the way. I have also foolproofed about 6 LG sections. I always watch explanation videos after doing games and repeat the game until perfect. I also feel comfortable with the LG foundations - on blind review I consistently get -0 to -1. But on fresh timed LG sections, I can barely make it through two games. I am truly not sure what I'm doing wrong and find this to be extremely demoralizing. I would appreciate any advice!

Live classes

For the live classes, do they let us know what section will be gone over prior to the class? #help

My interest in law began in high school, as a result of taking part in several mock court competitions. But fundamentally, I want to be in a position to help people. I am also interested in using the law as a vehicle to advance the broader progressive movement. I hope that working in law will allow me to help individuals and also to advance political change.
