Sometimes I do not understand where is the group 1 and 2 and which goes on the left side... Please help...

Elias is cited as late → arrived five minutes late

Kumar arrived 17 minutes late - unknown ( because you are switching the positions of the phrases here before the arrow ). If would be okay if those phrases were contrapositive: Kumar was not five minutes late → he was not cited as late.

Kumar is cited late → there is a possibility he was late for 17 minutes, or any number that is higher than 5.

For example,

I like apple only if they are green.

green →like

dislike → not green: I dislike apple only if they are not green.

Two are valid statements and correct.

like → green: Only if I like apples, they should be green ( not the same condition). This would not make sense. Me liking apples does not lead them to be green, but green apples leads me to liking them.
