Question on Common Valid Argument Forms

mzoodlemzoodle Member

In one of the lessons, JY states:

"Some dogs are cute. All cute things are loveable.
Therefore, some dogs are lovable".

My question is, why is it not, "Therefore, ALL dogs are loveable"?

Because only SOME of the dogs are cute. And ALL things that are cute are lovable.

So for the rest of the dogs, that might not be cute, we can't say they're lovable.

I would just go back and review the lessons on this. It actually wasn't intuitive for me at all and took me a long time. However, after enough review it finally clicked.
