Im testing a while from now and dont want to burn through all the recent PTs. Can one legitimately improve LR by using the really old LRs? Anywhere from 1-20?
Yes, the logic remains the same even if the subject matter is dated. Use old PTs extensively for practice until you feel comfortable with the basics. When I started out I used the "slow is smooth and smooth is fast" method. That is, pay no attention to timing early on - worry about mastering the fundamentals of logic at your own pace. With LR that means do translation drills until it becomes instant. Early prep tests are most useful for this purpose.
