Why is E wrong? Doesn’t E also give an alternative reason for why the houses architecture changed?

I thought about E. E would seem to indicate that the Thermal insulation instead of the AC was the cause but the high ceilings and thick walls kept people cool in extreme heat. Thermal insulation would keep people warmer in cold climates but how does it work in hot climates? Keeps the heat out? But that does not eliminate the fact that it was the airconditioning that was then cooling the houses in addition to the insulation.
