I agree about calling and asking. You want to focus on the fact that you want them to include your January LSAT in your application, so you’d like to be switched to regular decision, but that the school is still your top choice.
If you think it will greatly improve your chance of admission, it’s worth a shot. I just hope that your instinct about getting a better score this time around is correct! But I think that, assuming your score does increase, I can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be favorable to your application.

I am pretty sure you can call the school and ask them to switch you to regular decision. I don't think it will look very good though.
