Whats the general rule of thumb when it comes to being in school's median and gpa when it comes to acceptances and denials. No C&F issues. Just curious. Anxiety is killing me. Applied in September, still waiting on response.

At or above both medians = good chances, all things being equal
Above one median and below another = could be in or out and it will depend on other factors, all things being equal
Below both medians = poor chances, all things being equal
This is less applicable for some of the very very top schools, but is generally the case.
Former admissions officer here. I agree with @RaphaelP's assessment. However, it is a holistic review process, and there are always exceptions. Candidates can definitely punch above their numbers. On the other hand, at the very competitive schools with deep applicant pools of viable candidates, the admissions committees can afford to be extremely selective, and even above-median numbers may not guarantee an offer. For these reasons, it is a good idea to apply broadly to a range of schools. Good luck and hang in there!
Thank you!
