Hi I am confused on why the answer is B on PTF97 S1 Q2. I skipped it during my practice test to focus on easier ones first, but when I came back I was unsure about the answer. Also during BR I chose the wrong answer. Just need someone to explain! Thanks!

Hi there,
Let's take stock of the stimulus.
From there the author draws the conclusion that 50% of the population has been to Europe.
The issue is that some people could have gone to both Italy and France. Therefore we cannot combine these two figures to make 50% since the two groups are not mutually exclusive. What if every person who went to Italy also went to France. Then at best we can assume that 30% of the population went to Europe.
Oh that makes so much sense... I knew I was missing something I just couldn't figure out what... thank you so much
