I really don't understand why C is incorrect. I think "there is another explanation~~" can match "since parthenogenesis is~" part in the stimulus. Why is C incorrect and A an answer?
At the core of this argument, the flaw is "taking a lack of proof something is true as evidence it is false." The argument says that its never been demomstrated mammals can reproduce w/o fertilization of an egg, and it therefore concludes that this means mammals cannot engage in parthenogenesis. This is a flaw every time you see it. A is the only answer that matches this flaw, and it is therefore correct.
C: the argument does not rule out that mammals can engage in parthenogenesis because there's another explanation for it. The author would have had to say "it must not be the case that mammals can engage in pathenogenesis because they can easily reproduce in X way."
