Help! I can't wrap my head around this one AT ALL. I'm not even sure what the conclusion is.

    Sure! We call this a pseudo-sufficient-assumption (PSA) question.

    The conclusion is the first sentence, that record sales is not a mark of success. The premises are the rest of the stimulus: high sales means too trendy/pop; low sales means incompetent. The gap/assumption is that too trendy/pop or incompetence means "not successful."

    (B) bridges that gap/affirms the assumption.
